Gold Stars Playable?

I know gold stars are quite valuable but were they ever played? It’s weird to think that they were made but never played in a deck.

I started playing at the end if the gold star era. From memory they weren’t really playable. I believe you were only allowed to have gold star in any deck.

Considering there are world champions versions of Latias, Mew, and Jolteon I would imagine they were played in some top decks.

Yeah I was trying to see what a deck like that would look like. Just curious haha

Here are few successful decks which included gold stars.

I’ve never played but I’ve still asked comments from people who were active during ex-series and based on those comments most of the gold stars were traded away for bunch of other good cards.

Latios *, Latias *, Rayquaza *, Mew * and Jolteon * all had some success, the deck wasn’t usually based around them but just had them as techs.

Cards like Holon’s Castform made some of the attack costs viable, and Jolteon had uses in the Gardevoir/Gallade deck with its ability.
