That’s not good :C I wish I never sold it
I have quite a few times highlighted stuff that wasn’t paid and made posts about “don’t trust all comps” more than any other consignor on IG I’m guessing - a lot people pay right before relisted like on day 5 or 6 - and if they don’t it’s relisted the next day during the next auction so it’s obvious it wasn’t paid for a week later once it’s relisted. This last round of GS cancels a guy in UK bought them all and just couldn’t figure out how to pay with our EIS after a lot of back and forth for the whole week. You’re asking a lot to report unpaid that might be paid and then will be relisted anyway a a day or two later. I also don’t report on many actually paid strong sales either. I think we do a pretty good job all things considered and you can only do so much. You also have to be engaging and pick and choose what to post on IG because if you flood with same stuff post / story every week people get bored and leave. Delicate balance. People can message on IG though if they have a specific card they are looking to buy and based it off our “comps” and I can tell them yes or no, DMs always open (give a nudge if I don’t reply as we do get a lot sometimes).
If I may ask , are you a seller on instagram?
That is a nice ideal but all of this is work. E4 had a trophy card tracking thread for awhile, but that was more manageable since they are rarer and the sales were less frequent. Even then, it ended up becoming a job.
Ebay will always have the highest rate of shill bids, as there is no barrier to entry. The nonsense with my Illustrator is a perfect example. Maybe if ebay implemented something like fanatics where if the sale shows up, then its confirmed paid. Maybe there is some use case with Ai. Either way I think the ball is in Ebay’s court.
It should really be the responsibility of the platform to indicate any unpaid sales, ideally directly on the sold listing page. While individual sellers can do something, not all sellers have a platform like Z&G to publicize paid or unpaid auctions. Asking them to do more feels like a band-aid solution to a larger problem.
Usually these unpaid sales aren’t an issue outside of insane booms, but it really shouldn’t be that hard for eBay to mark something as unpaid.
just the biggest consignment seller like ever ![]()
I must live under a rock … please dont tell me they are z@g or probstein lmaoo
When you posted this earlier I thought you were being sarcastic
He’s Z&G.
I am so sorry , I had no idea lol Well you learn something new everyday ![]()
This made me laugh….. who do you think you are man….. Im that guy…..oh lol
I haven’t been keeping too much track on things recently but the PSA 10 JP Pikachu sale on fanatics on Sunday for $26400 and the Mewtwo at $18000 really caught me off guard. Is thisa realistic price for them to hold at if they get paid as I swear last time I looked the Pikachu was selling for like half of that a month ago or so?
Imo definitely not. They were consistently tiered as some of the cheapest japanese gold stars for years because they were basically box promos. The recent sales prices were incredibly dumb (for lack of a better word).
I would hazard a guess at 5-6k PSA 10 settlement eventually?
They weren’t basically box promos, they are box promos. People who are buying them at crazy prices are seeing the English copies as influence, and do not understand the release of these specific gold stars. Smooth brain buying behavior.
Their pop is massive compared to other gold stars.
Bruh promos are where the money is these days haven’t you heard? Pop 60k is what the people want
pretty much all of the jp gold stars are more common, easier to grade, less desirable than the english versions (except the 3 dogs)
them being pumped to high 4-5 figures is the funniest thing and they prolly have a way bigger % gain than the english ones ![]()
even funnier is the investor bros are paying thousands for the ones that come from world championship decks that are literally fake cards ![]()
Soooo Kantoshark sold the english gold star set in PSA 10 and I am a tad lazy, how does this break down if one were to buy individually, prices up/down ??? I believe final was $861k
80 posts were split to a new topic: Gold Star Discussion
This was a 26/27 set. Did not include Torchic
True just seeing that now so if you factor in the Torchic that is missing it would have exceeded 900K. Thank you for catching that.
It’s hard to believe that less than a year ago nobody wanted to pay $50k for this card. Now it sells for more than Trophy Kang, Play Umbreon, snap cards & even low grade Illustrator. It’s on par with Charizard 1st Ed PSA 10. Imagine telling someone 4 years ago that a SSB & TMB trophy combined would be worth less than a GS Torchic ![]()
