How much do you guys value unique printer errors? I think they are pretty cool but for the most part not worth that much money. It always cracks me up when someone on ebay makes a listing where the card has a tiny ink dot in the corner, $1,000 at least.
Most people would never pay a premium for a card with some random extra ink splattered on it. I (obviously by the thread) think they rule! They certainly aren’t worth the thousand dollar ridiculous price tag Haha. For me though, depending on how gnarly I thought it was I’d fork out way more then it’s worth. Lets say a unlimited base set weedle, worth next to nothing, had a super awesome ink error, I’d spend 20-50 bucks on something like that. There is no way to put an actual number on what something like that is “worth”. Its worth whatever some whackjob like me deems it sensical to buy it for!
I bought a binder collection from this towtruck driver in the parking lot of my work while I was at work the other day. (I bet that sentence has never been rendered before speaking about pokemon cards haha)
It was nothing crazy, standard guys childhood collection spanning base set through early ex series stuff. It had some decent holos and a really nice UK 1999-2000 wartortle and pikachu! But most awesomely it had…
This unlimited jungle mankey (in super scumtrash condition, notice the massive 1.5 inch long crease) with this radical white print defect on the bottom! I saw this card in the initial flip through and I was stoooooked!
I’m gonna get this sucker graded and cherish it forever!
Might aswell share this Charizard… bought this without an image as near mint in 2018, noticed the blue ink smudges on the back, graded it near mint PSA 7, left happy.
A few years back a holographic jungle Wigglytuff was put up for auction on ebay. The black outline of Wigglytuff was off a couple millimeters and it looked sooo cool since it was so unique. I bid the auction up to $30 and didn’t win. At the time I didn’t think it was worth going over $30, but I always think back to it and wish I bid more haha
Dude what a bummer! That sounds like it was super awesome! Sounds like it’s sorta in line with the mis aligned holo cards you see sometimes, they freaking rule. I’ve never seen a card with its black outline off, that just sound wicked cool
Forgot to post this one! This one came from the 2nd to last collection I purchased. This error is seldom ever talked about, I’ve only ever seen it talked about in one thread on this forum. I didnt even know about it til like 2 months ago when another member on here made a post about it in the thread mentioned above. It’s the line error 1st edition jungle venonat!
Move over d edition butterfree, this error is way rarer! (Didnt intentionally rhyme that by the way).
I’m gonna grade it, hopefully the grader doesn’t think it’s been drawn on with a pennnnn!
