Foreign Energy Cards

Just a single question, do some foreign energy cards not exist? I was looking at some Chinese Base Set energies and there seems to be no differences I can see compared to the Base 2000 print. Is it a different card stock or is it really just the same card? And if it works in the case of Base set for Chinese what other sets/languages have the same energy as the English one…
Just trying to figure it out since there seems to be no pictures online anywhere. If you know anything I’d love to know!

Thanks in advance,

I have energies from Korean Base set and they are exactly same as English 1999-2000 base set. No difference what so ever.

Thank you so much! Was the double colorless energy the same too or was that the one exception?

Double colorless is the exception as it had Korean text on it

I only add foreign energies to my collection if I find them. Dont have any extended knowledge or checklist related to them, sorry.

As far as I know the English ©1999-2000, Chinese, and Korean Base Set energies are all the same. Here a list of all foreign Energy names and their copyright years:

  • English: Energy & ©1999 Shadowless / ©1999 UED / ©1999-2000 UED
  • German: Energie & ©1999
  • Dutch: Energie & ©1999-2000
  • French: Énergie & ©1999 (note the É instead of E)
  • Italian: Energia & ©1999
  • Spanish: Energía & ©1999 / ©1999-2000 (both exist: Latin American Spanish and European Spanish) (note the í instead of i)
  • Portuguese: Energia & ©1999-2000
  • Korean: Energy & ©1999-2000
  • Chinese: Energy & ©1999-2000

As you can see, German and Dutch are both “Energie”, but with different copy-right dates; Italian and Portuguese are both “Energia”, but with different copy-right dates; but Korean and Chinese are not only the same name, but also the same copy-right date. (And I think the same also applies for the unlimited edition English 4th print - so all three are “Energy” and ©1999-2000.)

It’s all good! I didn’t realize that you only collected English energys, until just now. Thanks anyways! Your English checklists work really well.
