Evolving Skies Market Watch

We have pokemon center vending machines up here in the PNW, and I’ll buy 10 packs for MSRP when I see them. I don’t look very often, but they’re in stock maybe 25% of the time I do look.

I have probably about 40 loose packs of evolving skies, and one case of booster boxes.

I talked about what I enjoyed about the artwork, why it is so appealing and resonating to so many people, its significance, collectability, what it means to me, etc… without talking about the card’s monetary value here:

Dont let other people you dont know ruin your experience with such a beautiful set. I love the artworks and am a huge eevee fan. I was very excited when it was released and still enjoy opening packs from time to time. Regardless of how people talk about it, I hope you come back to enjoying such an amazing set!

In checking on prices of inventory, it surprised me that a lot of the English cards have now surpassed the Japanese in price. I didn’t expect that would happen.

tell it how it is

I have two sealed BB in Spanish, let’s see what happens in 4-5 years!

Recent sales show that a single ES booster box is now selling at $510 - $530. 130 point “last solds” show the prices before the ebay taxes and fees are applied to 45 out of the 50 states.

Edit: Reached out to the sellers and confirmed how much the buyers paid. Still surpassed the japanese booster boxes.

I wouldn’t read too much into one-off sales on eBay.

Very informative my friend, thank you for sharing. I am going off the last 10 booster boxes “last solds” on 130 point, not just one. What site do you use to see last solds? Id like to try it out for a change

Those sales were all on TCGPlayer.

When I look on eBay, I see the following:
$460 - Pokemon TCG Sword and Shield Evolving Skies Booster (178-80877) for sale online | eBay
$494 - https://www.ebay.com/itm/355420551955
$500 - Pokemon TCG Sword & Shield Evolving Skies Factory Sealed Booster Box | eBay
$470 - Pokemon TCG Sword and Shield Evolving Skies Booster (178-80877) for sale online | eBay
$465 - Evolving Skies Booster Box Sword & Shield | eBay

etc. etc. etc.

Where are you seeing the $560-$575 sales? Are these UK sales and GBP conversions?

I’m not sure that I follow your line of reasoning.

If someone buys a box at $460 on eBay (most recent auction), they’re paying between $460 (0% sales tax for states like Oregon, Delaware, etc. + $0 shipping) and $510 on average. This depends on the state that they live in and whether the seller requested shipping.

NY’s sales tax is about 8.5%, it varies by state.

When you mention 13.25%, are you thinking of the eBay seller fees? That doesn’t add on to a final price for a buyer, just sales tax and shipping (within the US, anyways)

This is what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing. Yes that clears up the misconception. I knew ebay upped their fees but did not know it only applied to sellers.
