Eseries Booster Value / Card Value (Crystals)

I am asking me a simple question, and I hope I will find a answer to that.
Eseries Packs are going up in value recently (skyridge right now at ~450$). The cards are relatively stable for a few months now. But early 2018 the Crystals dropped and dont get up after that.
Wouldnt it be kinda logical if they will climb back up to their early 2018 price, now, where the packs are going up pretty high?

Yes, the crystals are cheap imo. I also think skyridge sealed wont do much for a while now given the run. I expect psa singles to go up and sealed to stay flat over next year or 2.

When cards experience a lot of artificial hype the price tend to decrease and fail to recover (because they was never real demand to push it that high).

Prime examples are: LC reverse, shadowless and no rarities

I think there is definitely a relationship between pack price and card prices but I think the relationship is way overestimated and also there is a natural lag time before pack availability affects the card prices

Are you saying that those cards won’t even reach their old highs? I’d disagree with that assessment.

It seems to me that card prices propel pack prices more than the other way around. I’m not sure that prices of graded Crystals and sealed packs would ever “sync up” in a way that makes much sense. From what I can tell, these two items move independently in the short term. Someone with solid data could probably tell you for sure if there is a relationship there.

As everyone said, I think there is a big difference between the price of pack & the price of card in terms of value. Aquapolis & Skyridge struggle the most with Expedition being a little better than the two. I think pack values are only independent of ‘the luck of the draw - crystal pulls’ but even with that, you’ll only score (+profit) if you hit a Lugia (Aquapolis) or Charizard (Skyridge) besides that, almost all of the cards for Skyridge are below the $100 mark RAW NM, with very few being a little over. (Other crystals, rare rev-foils, etc.)

A Skyridge Box goes for about +$15,000 but the Skyridge box-toppers are only about $100-150 NM! All holos besides Crystals are a little below $100 as well. I think that’s crazy while pack value is sitting @$450+.

Overall, I think the pack values for WOTC E-Series are definitely over-valued and probably won’t go much higher than what it already is unless sealed product collectors desire for it due to scarcity, but the card values should increase over time, probably not over one year.
