English Non-cracked ice Aritcuno EX fire red leaf green?

Was the non cracked ice EX a promo of some sort? Don’t have tons of knowledge of this set and didn’t really look around much, figured asking was the best bet.

Do you have pictures, I don’t think this card exists.
There is a promo 032 with a different artwork than FRLG
and the Japanese one is non cracked, but English should be all cracked ice

You are talking about the Articuno EX 114/112 that was printed on cosmos foil, right? I haven’t looked at English cards in a while, but I remember a few sales of the legendary birds printed on cosmos foil. I believe these were errors included in a very small number of EX FireRed & LeafGreen packs.

@bluey may know more. There was also guy on PokeBeach who owned a couple of these…

I’m interested to see what E4 can dig up.

Yeah, after I got back from the gym, I pulled up some speculation on Pokebeach, probably the same threads. Some were thinking maybe UK release, but I don’t think there was ever a definitive answer.

Not the best pic, nor condition, EX at best…but yeah.

Was this only for articuno ex? Or all the legendary birds?

According to the threads, all 3 had seen the error. Someone else speculated it could possibly a 3rd layer on top that was missed during the printing process.

Yer my legendary bird exs have this glossy layer on top of them, which is where the ice sharding comes from I think

Looked at it side by side with my normal one as well, didn’t look to have any other differences.

Cosmos holo on anything makes it looks 10x better.

I hate to bring up semi outdated topics like this, but I figured this would be appropriate to share here. Just arrived in the mail recently, but I hadn’t noticed the non-shard holo until somebody else pointed it out to me. So it’s technically a double error…

Grateful for the info above, and I would imagine that the holo was missed during the printing process. Seeing as all the birds usually had it, I bet they had their own sheet and some didn’t get the treatment by accident. So I’d assume that’s a moltres ex at the bottom, which also doesn’t have the shard holo… I’m skeptical of any sort of UK release like they said but that would be super intriguing if anyone could confirm that.
