Just got the following email:
"As of January 11, 2021, listings in the Sports Trading Cards, Collectible Card Games, & Non-Sports Trading Cards categories are no longer required to offer remorse returns to qualify for the Top Rated Plus 10% final value fee discount. While your listings may qualify for the Top Rated Plus rating and discount, at this time, the Top Rated Plus seal will not apply to the listing in search results. To qualify for the badge, you are required to offer at least 30-day returns.
Bear in mind that purchases in this category still qualify for the eBay Money Back Guarantee. This means you may still receive, and we may ask you to resolve, return requests for items that arrive damaged, missing parts or pieces, or otherwise arrive at your customer not as described in your listing. Learn more about the returns process."
So this is good…right?

Makes zero difference unless you’re trying to have top-rated seller status. But I don’t even bother with it because the perks are pretty minor and the requirements are not insignificant.

What I interpreted this message to mean was,
to get the 10% final value discount for being a top rated seller
previously you must take returns for 30 days
now, that’s not a requirement for TCG cards.
So effectively you can get the 10% final value discount by being a top rated seller but NOT having to accept 30 day returns (if you meet all other top rated seller criteria)
This doesn’t mean you get a top rated seller status label, you just get the benefit of being a top rated seller when it comes to Final Value Fees.
Doesn’t that mean there’s zero final value fee? Since eBay normally takes 10% this negates it?
its 10% off the 10%…
really makes no difference buyers never use ‘buyers remorse’ as a return reason but rather EXPLODE and select item not as described, give a paragraph of BS to make sure the return is forced.
