Ebay - I only received 2 of 3 cards

So i bought 3 PSA graded shadowless cards from a private seller and only got 2 of them in the package.
Of course i messaged him about it and he called me a liar. I had to ask ebay to step in and explained them the Situation. He provided them the tracking number and they closed the case immediately and told me the only option I had was to return the cards and go for a refund since the tracking proves that i received the order.

Sorry if this has been answered before but what is the safest option i have now ?
Im sure the package wasnt opened so the cards couldnt have been lost during transit.

If i sent him the cards back with tracking, will i then get 100% of my money back without risk ?

Thanks in advance for any advice guys !

I take it you started the case as, Item not received?

Donny, what is the weight listed on the shipping label?

Go to the post office and ask for the weight of the package. Then explain to eBay how much three cards plus the packaging weigh. I went through something similar where eBay closed a case on me because the tracking showed delivered. I didn’t give up I went to the debts of the postal service terminal to get proper and detailed evidence. It turns out that it was an ATTEMPTED delivery but it didn’t show that online so eBay couldn’t know. I showed them a picture of the sheet and I finally got my money back after 3 denied attempts of reopening my case. Don’t give up do whatever you think will work.

Very good advice about the weight guys. However, if they print ther own labels they can pretty much put any weight they want. Still a good option though if the package is short 40-50 grams. Please check the weight on the package, OP.

@masonkampe brings a good point too. You should have done a Item Not As Described. Otheriwse they just check if it was delivered.

Thanks for your help guys. I did indeed start the case as item not received which was a bad move on my part.

I will check with my postal office about the weight, Im sure he printed his own label and put something like 0.5 pounds as weight. Not 100% sure since my gf threw the package in the trash after a few days…^^

I didnt know that i could attempt to reopen my case several times so I will keep doing that until they help me.

The weight won’t help much then if it wasn’t really accurate. 0.5 lbs(227g) is more than enough for 3 graded cards in a small box/bubble mailer. The cards would weigh rougly 140-150g Americans with their pounds… lol

It was Global Shipping, so maybe Pitney Bowes weighed and opened and resealed/repackaged your shipment. I know they open every package that comes my way, but I don’t know how it is for Europeans.

Either way, I’m sure ebay will take care of you. It might take a bit of perseverance though.

if no items or not all sent to you, but tracked = file a ‘not as described’ case. Post proof. You will win.
if no items or not all sent to you, but no tracking = file a ‘item not received’ case. You will win.
if wrong or contradicting items sent to you, tracked or not = file a ‘not as described’ case. Post proof. You will win.

Other than that, well it’s 50/50…
But it’s always best to resolve/talk with sellers first.

Oh wow that’s the seller I got 2 1st ed base psa 9 cards off. He actually had outstanding communication and took lots of extra photos for me. Hope it all works out.

Locked this thread and removed the posts that went off-topic and resulted in a debate. The OP was given good advice for handling the situation. If they want to create a new thread later to let us know how the matter was resolved, that’s perfectly fine. Alternately, they can PM me to let me know the outcome, and I can post it here so they thread can be properly wrapped up.
