I agree. I like all the v alt arts from eevee heroes over the vmax alt arts. And I feel the same way about the largeness of the pokemon. Like I don’t particularly like the espeon vmax because of that, but I feel it works better with some more than others and I don’t mind it for the umbreon. Like I really dislike the character SR of umbreon. It’s very off putting seeing a human sit on a giant umbreon.
I’d also probably not put the umbreon vmax in my top 5 but I think it’d still end up in my top 10.
That’s one of those where I won’t be surprised if it wins or is top 3, but it’s probably not even in my top 10.
my issue with the umbreon vmax hr sa is my same issue with a lot of umbreons… it doesn’t “feel” like umbreon to me. The ears feel disproportionally too long and the general mood doesn’t feel like umbreon… idk how to describe it other than that lmao. The best aspect of that card is the background by far. Umbreon just happens to be on it. if you’ve had the JP (or other non-korean asian copies) in hand, you know what I’m referring to.
i don’t necessarily mind if the pokemon is a giant or not. there are quite a few vmaxes that i enjoy their special arts of where it feels more cohesive with my perception of how that pokemon would be if it were giant and how it would interact with the world around it.

While the points laid out are all valid (minus a random comparison of market value to determining art quality) I tend to share @fourthstartcg’s opinion about the VMAX eevees not feeling like eeveelutions to me. The size is just off putting… The only one I tend to like is the Leafeon VMAX because it is actually interacting with an object that immediately shows the viewer the difference in scale playfully.
As for why people don’t like Moonbreon as much, or why it might not break the top 10 in this poll… Scroll up!!! Umbreon has so many incredible artworks 
VMAX as a concept for illustrations is one of the better ones, that is, just making the Pokemon massive.
Definitely better than tera hats or shinies. Other card gimmicks have nothing going for them like VSTAR, Amazing Rare.
I can understand why VMAX art would be off-putting for people who didn’t watch the anime. The SW/SH anime does a great job of normalizing VMAX and making it cool.
Results are in! what do yall think of how it broke down? I’m honestly kind of surprised that there wasn’t a clear winner for the special arts. I haven’t gone through to see who all picked what because i’m not insane.
Either way, this was a lot of fun, and I hope everyone will participate in the future ones.

I figured it would be within the top 3. I still remember how I passed on it as a 50 buck card and said I would get it later. That same year it was already 150 and kept climbing. The art is just so good.
I always imagine it as the foil to Neo Discovery Espeon. Always imagined that Umbreon was dreaming while Espeon was in the dream.
i’d like to do espeon soon as well, but i want to knock out some mons with more cards like ray, mew, and lugia (my next 3 planned)

- How can Karen’s Umbreon be the no.1 spot? It’s an uncompromising and unappealing pose - sleeping! Seriously??
- Neo Umbreon is one of the unlike artworks. It looks more like a panther with long ears.
- What’s with Skyrich? Why so many people like Skyrich Umbreon? It’s an unappealing pose from behind.
Moonbreon artwork is of such ethereal and sublime beauty, perfect pose in a perfect background setting… if you remove the text or have an artist repaint it in acrylic, people would even think it’s a masterpiece by artmasters like Van Gogh or Picasso. When it’s not in top 3, I have every reason to suspect results was inaccurate or untruthful.
Yah even Umbreon 
is better looking than Karen’s or even Skyrich. Neo should be out of top 10.
