Well, anyways … Because of the launchment of “Trainers Magazine Vol.18” (05th Sep. 2002) I thought it’d be a good idea to make this survey …

The artwork on these really started picking up in 2002! Lots of fabulous covers! (and cards, though I didn’t take that into account with my votes).

I had no idea you were Pokemon models!

I like them all, for the vibe and for what they represent (even the weird ones, like the hallucinating Crobat); some of them, like the Dragonite, are one of the best art ever seen in the franchise imho.

I voted the Moltres as my favorite though, cause something in that palette (considering the big pink Trainer text too) makes my brain happy.

Amazing choice!!! Vol.18 is an amazing magazine!!! I really like the cover and back cover illustration.
I just noticed that the pink of the word “Trainers” combines extremely good with the background.

Btw, this is the full illustration.

Yes, in 2002 with the Vol.14 is when they decided to make a total change to the Trainers Magazine style

• New logo
• Back cover also has an illustration that connects with the cover to make a single illustration
• They stopped including Card List Booklets as inserts and since Vol.14 Card Lists are part of the main magazine.

But before Vol.14 there were amazing cover illustrations too … For example, my favourites from the era before Vol.14 are Vol.7 (Komiya Smeargle) and Vol.12 (CR CG Gangs Rocket Scizor).

Not only cards … these magazines used to include Postcards as well … For example, these are the ones included in Vol.11

There were also Card List Booklets that came in certain volumes. For example, Pokémon VS card list booklet came along Trainers Magazine Vol.13 … But I didn’t include any of these (Postcards & Card List booklets) for this survey …
