Alola! It’s time to take a U-Turn detour to Poke-Hawaii, land of the wrestling cats and most importantly, the seventh iteration of E4 Pokémon tournaments! We will be Knock’ing Off the seventh generation of Pokémon games: Sun & Moon and Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon!
Once again, we’ll be holding brackets for both VGC double battles and single battles. The formats that we’re playing this time are Smogon Gen 7 OU Singles and VGC 2018.
And of course, Little Cup will be making its return for both brackets for players who did not qualify for Top 8! Thought it wouldn’t come back? That would be quite the Fake Out.
Now that we’ve Flare Blitz’d through the intro, don’t be Intimidated and sign up! Both tournaments are open to anyone on E4 with either 50 posts, previous participation in an E4 tournament or a referral from another veteran competitor.
Singles Bracket
Tournament matches will be played on Pokémon Showdown using Smogon Gen 7 OU Singles rules.
Your team (Pokémon, items, moves, EVs/IVs) must remain the same for all games within a set. However, you can swap your lead Pokémon between games. Any player that is found swapping teams between games in a set will automatically have that game count as a loss for them. You can bring a different team for each round/new opponent.
Singles matches will be played in a “Best of 3” format where the winner will need to win 2 games to advance to the next round. The tournament will be a Double Elimination bracket, meaning players that lose in the winner’s bracket will still be able to progress through the loser’s bracket.
VGC 2018 Bracket
Tournament matches will be played on Pokémon Showdown using the VGC 2018 Ruleset.
VGC double battles require you to build a full team of 6 Pokémon but only bring 4 into each battle. You can change which 4 you bring into each battle for each game within a set.
Players are only allowed to bring one team of 6 for the entire bracket and are required to post their full team in this thread before their first match. These restrictions are keeping in line with how official VGC tournaments operate now. If you are entering VGC please submit your teams to me via DM before the tournament start date.

Little Cup Bracket
Players who do not qualify for top 8 in either bracket will be entered in a single elimination, best of three bracket against their fellow competitors who are also out of the main bracket.
This allows players who are eliminated early more opportunities to play games and a chance to win their own unique Little Cup badge! While sharing its name with the ruleset introduced in Pokémon Stadium 2, Little Cup will use the exact same rulesets as the main brackets and not the one with level 5 unevolved Pokémon.
Saving Replays
Participants are required to report the results of their sets here and post replays of all their games. Refer to this post if you aren’t sure how to save replays on Pokémon Showdown.
