Does PSA release grades earlier now?

Just clicked on order status yesterday to see what stage it was at. A bunch of confetti poured down the screen and it said "GRADES READY. Out of the 10 cards one was not getting graded due to a misprint, and when I went to look at the grades the other 9 Grades were shown but only 6 of the cards pictures were updated showing them in the Slab with the grades. I found this strange so I took pics. I woke up this morning and logged into PSA to check status of other orders I’ve submitted and decided while I was logged in to see if they had updated the other cards pictures, only to see that now only 1 cards picture is in the PSA slab graded and the other 4 that had pictures in the slabs yesterday now have the “first view” pics that PSA provides once they receive your order. Does anyone know if the can, have, or are changing grades once they’ve provided them? they sent me an email a couple days ago which highlighted the new early reveal that they are doing and it says they are giving you your grades earlier so you can go ahead and begin to now that you have them. I am a little concerned that they are going to change the grades. Not to mention that the out of the 6 cards that they originally provided pics in the slabs five were 10’s and one was a 9. The five 10’s are the pics that have been changed back to the First View (raw) pics. I know this is new to everyone but is anyone going through a similar situation or does anyone have any knowledge on the subject?

It is unlikely that they are going to change the grades. It’s probably just a bug in their system that is releasing grades before the entire order is encased or some other required step on their end. I would take a deep breath and know that it will be OK.

Thanks for the insight and good luck. Let us know what ends up happening

Well this is strange, grading and assembly steps are complete, but grades aren’t ready?

I mean, once you grade a card and assemble it, it should have a grade. As a multi million dollar company you would think they have tech that can auto feed the grade through to the order page. Why the hold up? Does some 70 year old need to go and slowly punch in the grades with a mechanical keyboard?

They need to see if cards will be downgraded due to damage from assembly. If cards were damaged, it would change the grade and the whole process would have to restart (Regrade → Assembly → Contact Owner)

Oh, so qa check  which has now been positioned after grades ready…

When assembly has been marked complete for a while and you’re still waiting for your grades to be ready (express order)
