I submitted this shadowless Magneton with the hopes of getting an off center qualifier from PSA. However, the card came back as a 9, with no qualifier. Is this what I should have expected since I didn’t specify I wanted the off center qualifier? I thought PSA would apply the qualifier and the only thing I can specify is if I don’t want the qualifier.
That is interesting… I don’t see why this didn’t get the OC qualifier. Is the back centered correctly by chance?
The back looks off center as well.
I don’t think you have to specify the OC qualifier for them to do it, they will do it if it applies.
That being said, since you can add notes on each item you add as you enter it into your submission, I always write something like, “OC grade?” just to call attention the fact that it’s close and that if they deem it OC, I welcome it since I mentioned it in the note.
You would hope they would be completely objective and add the OC if it’s appropriate, regardless of any notes I put, but I can’t ignore the human element and it doesn’t hurt to ask
I have a clefairy with the alignment dot as well that they wouldn’t give a qualifier too. I was under the impression it was because it graded a 7 and they only give qualifiers to cards that would grade an 8 or 9 otherwise… so your submission just ruined that theory lol. Awesome card btw! I’m hoping to eventually get all 16 with the alignment dots too
I added a note when I sent in a shining Rayquaza and I got the qualifier, but didn’t do it this time. I’ll take you advice and always add the note from now on.
Haha very strange. Are you planning to resend the Clefairy and try to get the OC? I’m debating whether I should resend.
Doesn’t look oc enough to me. It’s really odd that poke people WANT oc’s whereas with sports card people you get pissed off cause it destroys the value lol.
I sent it twice and noted it clearly both times and nada, so no idea ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don’t think it’s so much for the value as the novelty, at least it is for me. I know they’re worth less but it’s fun to collect anyway
In one of my submissions, I got 2 OC qualifiers. I just submitted and didn’t notify in the notes section
In my limited experience they are horribly inconsistent with qualifiers. I have asked for them and not gotten them. Then cracked and resend to either not mention them or just re mention them the same way only to get them the second time around. Mostly with OC’s. A time or two with stains or miscuts.
