Sometimes we have to sell portions of our collection, whether due to financial hardship, changing interests, or compelling prospects of profit. But after all is said and done, do you miss cards that you sell?
Sold a lot of my most expensive cards to pay for things I needed for back to school and other stuff. I lowkey still regret it more than anything else.

Of course! I don’t sell too many cards I don’t have another copy, but when I do, I know its for the betterment of my life. Ideally it would be nice to keep everything forever, but when their value goes up exponentially, it feels reckless.

I sold all my PSA 10 Ponchos this year and felt nothing. But I sold my PSA 10 1st Edition Base Arcanine too and regret it every day.

Had to sell 99% of my collection in my last move. It was good because it pushed me to narrow my focus and I’m happier with my collection now

Almost never except two cases
- I don’t regret selling my shining Charizard, because I sold it to buy a stroller. That said, I wish I had had another card to sell at the same value, that somebody happened to want at the same time.
- I sold a spiky eared pichu slab (the moon one). Wish I’d kept it

I started collecting after clearing all debt and making major life purchases, but I would certainly hate to part with anything I’ve collected. I start to miss my own cards when I haven’t seen them in a while lol

I had a change in interest a few years back (my last comment was in 2021) and sold some of my cards for other ventures. I’m back now but I do miss the below 2 which I had in PSA 10. I have the money, I just can’t find any copies available anymore (Edit: actually, no, I don’t have the money, at least not ~35k for the only listing of the Wailord on Ebay).

I miss my PSA 10 lenticular deoxys that everyone on discord said it was the pack that was graded and not the card 
I also really really miss my Rayquaza gold star bgs 8.5 that I sold for like 1/3 of current market 7 months ago

Generally speaking I only sell items I have already mentally parted with or I have another copy. That may change soon for me though because the prices of some of my PSA 10 cards have gone up so much I can’t help but think about selling them, and those ones I will definitely miss.

Never sold a one from my binders, and any really good flotsam spills over into binders for the grandkids. I share the kids passion now-a-days.

I absolutely miss cards that I have sold. But do I regret it? No. It helped me get where I am today and hopefully I can acquire some of the same ones in the future. It’s hard not to sell in big bull runs like we are experiencing now but history shows there will always be ups and downs in the market.

there are cards that I just refuse to sell and then there are cards that I tend to sell when markets get crazy… holding a stack of green is always pretty fun lolz
I only ever sold doubles or cards which I specifically bought to use as a bargaining chip in trading or to sell them, so no, not really since I either have another copy or didn’t have the card in my collection for long.

There are only a few cards I’m emotionally attached to, and most of those I have duplicates of anyway. I tend to view collecting similarly to how the Pokedex works. Once I’ve owned a card, I’m satisfied with having had ownership at some point. I can always look back at pictures or videos if I feel like reminiscing.

Backstory:
In 2003 I used some of my lawn mowing money to buy a Skyridge Booster box for $85. I had 3 Crystal pulls from that box:
- 2x Crystal Ho-oh (Regular)
- 1x Crystal Celebi (Reverse)
In 2017 I submitted both Ho-ohs to PSA. Both of them got PSA 9. Sequential certs.
I sold the one pictured above for around $150-200. I still have the other one.
In hindsight I regret separating my firebird twins.

PSA 10 Lenticular…ouch.
I dont have a lot of regrets, but some definatly werent the smartest decisions. You win some you lose some. Sold a 1st ed neo revelations houndoom psa 9 for 42,- euro’s somewhere in 2018/2019 for example 
Overall i definatly cant complain though, glad i joined the hobby again in 2015. Current market is insane
