Differences between modern Belgium and USA prints

The French Temporal Forces set has been printed in Belgium (booster boxes) and the USA (single/3-packs). Other products and languages have been produced in Belgium as well. I don’t have info on when the Belgium print started (or rather, started again since they used to produce cards there in the early years of the TCG).

People comparing the two prints usually conclude that the Belgium print is better quality overall (packs and cards apparently, but I haven’t dug into it).

What’s interesting to me is that a couple of cards have a small error: Wugtrio ex (Full Art 190) and Farigiraf (Full Art 194) have the 2 silver stars rarity when printed in the USA, and the 2 golden stars rarity (error) when printed in Belgium.

I checked all the other Full Arts from the set (as well as other languages and other sets) but it seems only these two are affected (they are the only 2 Tera Full Arts). The correct version (USA print) is rarer than the other (or in children’s hands since they’re the main target for single packs).

If you notice other little differences like that, let me know!

Interesting. Gonna have to keep an eye out for any French errors with Eevees then in future sets if they keep up this split production. Wonder how this even happened.

The earliest instance I know of would be a German Silver Tempest print run from early 2023

They’re not just producing French cards, but possibly all the other European languages (not sure about Portuguese since the card are in Brazilian Portuguese). As far as I can tell, German, Italian and Spanish don’t have the error but I’m also not sure if Temporal Forces was produced in Belgium for these languages.

The products have the mention “made in Belgium” or “made in the USA” so it could be possible to check what kind of packs/bundles comes from where and then watch video openings… it’s probably very time-consuming.

Oh interesting. I’ll have to keep an eye out then.

I always find printing errors like these so interesting- thanks for the information!

Yes, for Temporal Forces German, English and Italian packs also state “Made in the United States and the Netherlands”. So they probably were printed both at the Millenium Print Group and the Millenium Print Group Europe (Mouthaan Grafisch Bedrijf).

Yeah, I think that’ll now be the norm for regular sets in English, German and Italian.
