Ok so let me start by saying that I did my research on this card in trying to find what it is worth. I did a search for the holo version psa 10 in previous sold listing and the only one I found was $192.50 back in April 2018 on ebay. There were a lot of reverse holo listings but not many regular holo listings as there are only 11 pop, of which I just recently bought mine for $71.
I am wondering if I got a decent deal on mine, as I sort of think I did since the one previously sold for almost $200 but am not completely sure since it was just one listing after all. I’d appreciate any input that you can offer!
As long as you’re happy with the card for what you paid then you got a good price. Values for cards like this can be hard to pinpoint depending on interest (demand) at the time. It can change a lot.
Remember that POP 11 means that 11 people chose to grade it, not that there are only 11 copies of the card in existence.
The set was released when some of the lowest amount of product was being printed, but keep in mind this card is part of the theme deck bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/James_(TCG) so it’s not particularly rare.
Yeah, that is true I suppose. Though I just read the topic you posted about the trade secret and I saw where it mentioned, “The Dark Dranite and Dark Tyranitar holos sell for $200-ish in PSA 10” and that post was around same time as the listing I originally mentioned selling for $192.50, so this leads me to believe I did get a good deal!
