So for many years I’ve wanted a way to display my cards effectively. I’ve looked around for ideas and have never found exactly what I’m looking for. Today I’m excited to announce my project is pretty much complete. My father in law built me a custom case with UV glass and lock. I have terrible lighting in my room and decided to try my hand at created a LED lighting to fit the case, light the cards appropriately, and also not be visible (tall order so I had to do it myself with the help of amazon supplies).
I see people asking about displaying their stuff all the time. An I have never seen anything quite like this (what I wanted) so I wanted to share it with you guys and see what you think!
It actually isn’t that noticeable in person as it is in the photo but this is just step one for now. I’m gonna brainstorm ways to make the lights more hidden and the cables show just barely in a couple places too. The hard part is they need to be positioned above the angled out cards to give them the best lighting and I could have hidden the lights behind a lip on the top of each segment but the lighting that hits the cards is much less there and no nearly as appealing.
That looks amazing. The only thing that bugs me is the UV protection. I know for a fact the red colors will start fading within a few months. I wish that wasn’t the case I’d display every single card I own
I don’t think @thecardguyz has to worry about fading since he mentioned the case has UV protected glass on the case.
In either case, pun not intended, this looks amazing! Would love to build a miniature set of this for my collection as well! It looks wicked professional. Great job!
@thecardguyz, How does this stand up or does is get mounted on the wall? Looks very thin, which is why I ask. I would hate for it to fall over. Looks great though!
