Oh no way? Had no idea. That’s really interesting
Yeah I had to get used to that too.
1st edition for Japanese is much more common.
Actually, this is a sign to sell into the market minus your personal collection.
I sold everything in 2024. It was really tough but absolutely no regrets. Allowed me to do other things in life. Now I’m slowly getting back into it
That makes sense. I didn’t watch the video. 280k for a PSA10 japanese shining charizard had me questioning my life choices.
Years of reading negativity is forgotten when I read comments like this! I know this sounds like a luxury problem but it’s so hard selling once in a lifetime cards. I’m sure for many people selling something for 100x is their dream, but I just love the cards so much.
You guys mean a lot to this community ![]()
Pikachu Stamp Box Promo PSA 10s are starting to sell for more than $3k lol
In this market, if a card isn’t selling for at least $3k in a PSA 10, it’s probably extremely undesirable or ugly lol
The same people who called me names in high school for liking Pokemon are now asking my advice on selling the shit they scalped. Or trying to buy my cards that they didn’t give two shits about 2 years ago.
I am curious when pack prices will catch up further. For some sets there are very few available. Supply has all been ripped or is locked away.
I’m struggling to keep up with this market ![]()
This weekend I went through bulk modern holos and reverse holos and surprised to see the prices on some of these more popular Pokémon (151 gengar reverse for example). Also 1st edition LP WOTC and Japanese vintage cards have seen an uptick. There are many cards that weren’t worth the trouble 1 year ago and now are $10-20 or more. I didn’t sleeve a lot of my bulk due to the quantity and PSA 10 copies are now well into the “worth it to grade” category ![]()
And what is happening to Japanese base energies in PSA 10?! I have a stack of deck fresh energies somewhere, never would have guessed these would be $200-300 ![]()
Had a similar moment last night. I was looking through some of my stuff and lots of PSA 9 WOTC cards I bought for 70, 80 bucks three or four years ago are four figures now. Crazy times.
The higher and higher prices get, does anyone ever think people are throwing their life away buying these expensive cards?
At the end of the day you don’t own land, a home, a part of a company… you own a Pokémon card that won’t directly feed or shelter you
I’ve bought a fair amount in the past 6 months, but feel pretty good about it because anything I spend comes from sales of other cards. I’ve tried to treat it like a closed system the past few years, easy come, easy go if it all goes to shit lol
I found a mint 1st ed Fossil non-holo rare set in a binder that I had forgotten about. There’s a Gengar there.

I think lots of people are leveraging and using sales to cover the leverage.
Problem starts if sales stop.
If that were to happen it could snowball big time
