I purchased a Marnie Premium Tournament Collection Box from a professional seller on Cardmarket (and eBay) on January 7. I received it January 13, and me being naive, the thought that a seemingly well established professional seller would send me a fake product didn’t even cross my mind. I then rate the transaction as received and positive, and then open the box (my mistake).
Once I see the booster packs and rip one open, it’s an obvious fake. I then immediately opened a support ticket and messaged the seller to let him know the situation. It’s now January 22 and no replies from support. I did send one message in the support ticket yesterday asking for a status update, but so far silence. When I opened the support ticket I was quoted 24-72 hours, which of course isn’t accurate at all now…
Wondering if anyone has had experience with being a buyer and receiving counterfeit products on Cardmarket?
I was skeptical of joining cardmarket at all, and I do have to say it’s left a bad taste in my mouth…
I have never received a fake card, but had cases of mail getting lost, receiving the wrong card, or receiving a card in lower condition than described. As you already noticed yourself, NEVER confirm the arrival of a product before you have checked it, as that way you basically confirm that everything is alright. Support can unfortunately at times be slow, hope you get a response soon.
I’m sorry this happened to you, I’ve used cardmarket tons of times and never had a problem. Only once did something not arrive from mainland EU to me in the UK.
Not sure what their customer support is like, but I always open up the package and check all the cards are there before confirming reciept and leaving a rating. Hopefully it won’t leave you too out of pocket if things don’t get resolved.
holo pattern on the Marnie promos are incorrect, the coin is scratched (like my old genuine coins from the early 2000s), the printing is off (saturation, clarity, etc.) of the booster boxes and cards, card border spacing is all over the place, etc.
to be clear not saying I was scammed, I’m sure it’s possible that the seller didn’t know as well…
would be interested if anyone has experience with how long it takes for support to pick up and respond to a ticket… since their quoted timeframe of 3 days has passed.
Can you upload pictures of the fake cards and the box? Was it already open when you received it?
I’d be surprised to see fakes of a 50€ milk carton collection, especially going as far as also faking the promos and whatnot, but I guess it’s not impossible.
Yes. I contacted support. They asked me to make photos of the received card. They confirmed it was a fake. I had to provide photos of the card being destroyed and they gave me back my money and flagged up the seller.
I’ve only had positive experiences with Cardmarket. They even took responsibility for things they didn’t have to, like covering the cost of a standard mail shipment that was stolen from my mailbox. What is true is that they usually take a few days to reply. Send them photos, videos, and as detailed an explanation as you can.
My Cardmarket experience has been positive so far, and I have never received a fake card. However, I have had several delivery issues. I once contacted support because a card did not arrive at my place and was not sent back to the seller either. I remember it took a few days (but not more than a week) for support to respond, and I received my refund. I hope they reply soon to your ticket.
But most of all NOBODY well try to sell fake on cardmarket as professional seller.
If they close your account, you are done. You cannot get another account because you need to identify yourself with pasport/ID.
Would appreciate details as to what points to genuine… i only collected until XY.. stopped around 2017. Assuming these are genuine, this is my first experience past XY, and the quality overall is a real downgrade. I did recently buy some japanese and english packs from SV and ME1 and the quality is good, what I’m used to with XY and before.
Honestly it looks fine man, I’d just let it be, the cards from what I can see look fine, the coin is perfectly fine they almost always come with tiny defects. From what I can see everything you opened looks real
Since you contacted the helpdesk, you should let them know you were wrong.
Doesn’t matter you gave a positive transaction rating. Behind the screens they will be flagged if the helpdesk found time to help you. It takes sometimes a week before they respond btw.
