If you had a spare, Japanese common card that you didn’t want and that someone specifically said he was looking for, you wouldn’t sell it for a dollar?
I’d send it to the person for free, actually. That act of kindness, in my opinion, is worth far more than profiting by some marginal amount.
Le sigh. I hope more people don’t miss “the point.”
We all love acts of kindness when they’re in our favor. Offering someone 5.00 for that card would be you offering an act of kindness on them and as you said, "is worth far more than profiting by some marginal amount" After all, they have to take the time to find your card, package it, put on postage, fill out address, and then mail it.
Of course you didn’t mean any harm but just so you can see how it looked to others;)
The thing about it is this…
Even if I had the card, the amount of time it would take to sort through my bulk to take out one card to ship isn’t worth it. I typically have minimum $5 orders for that reason. I’m lazy, so needing to sort through cards for a single to sell… especially a smaller scale one… Makes it not worth it
Right guys how about instead of saying “nah wouldn’t do that waste of time” you just dont bother posting? Its contradictory that you are actually willing to respond to this thread saying no and then talking about how you wouldnt do the guy a favour despite him asking to pay $1 for a common… either respond with something helpful or dont respond at all being as your time is worth so much… personally if I had the card I would want the postage covered and nothing more… It’s a common non holo ffs not everything is about making money.
I think an act of kindness would be paying the same price or just below the ebay price ($1.50-2) Why pay a big collector double or more then ebays price for a non holo common? :\
I think for future reference, your thread title should be something along the lines of “I need a favour” . The title was kind of click-baity and it would have been better if you just say that you would cover the cost of shipping for the card, instead of offering 1$ for it. Postage itself would already cost more than 1$ in my country, and that’s not even including packaging and the use of my time. I guess it sort of made it seem like you did not consider the cost of our time and the shipping costs.
I am sure most community members (myself included, unfortunately I don’t have it ) would gladly give the card to you for free if we had it in our collection, as long as you cover the shipping costs of the card!
