Coronavirus drop card to 2009 prices?

This is a 100% certainty. Everything will drop to 2009 prices. Why that year specifically, no one knows. Get ready to buy some AMZN for $80 too.

Yes

Eh
 I said, No

Depending on what it closes at, this is shaping up to be the largest single day DOW drop in 2 years, oof

China just banned consumption and trade of wild animals. Fucking idiotic how this outbreak started. Hopefully this can be contained, but with China lacking transparency and rejecting the help from other nations’ medical professionals, who knows how this will play out

2009 prices? Lets do it! I would love to finish a PSA 10 base 1st edition set within a couple of days

But in all seriousness, no, I couldn’t see it going that low. These major news articles averring to that fact that the virus will be substantially impacting the U.S are, however, causing a hiccup in the overall market currently. This is annoying, but not threatening. Yet.

I believe that this too shall pass.

Rudy from Alpha said this. People don’t always behave the way the market expects them. The Coronavirus is essentially a stronger version of the flu. I think there is a high likelihood that it’ll become a pandemic as many experts warned, because people don’t quite understand exponential math or the medical response required during a pandemic. South Korea will probably be one of the first examples. There is a similar pattern of increased reported cases each day. In a few weeks, the number could be tens of thousands unless drastic measures are taken immediately. Anyone alive during the Spanish Flu? Anyhow, I think the market is prepared for any fire sale of PokĂ©mon cards. There is enough demand to absorb a small market like PokĂ©mon. I just hope it doesn’t affect the ability to print and deliver new PokĂ©mon sets.

2009?
Why not down to 2005 prices!?

Don’t be ridiculous.

Guys, we are thinking too small here. Why stop at 2009 or 2005? Lets go back to WOTC MSRP

Ridiculous is thinking a flue is going to halt printing presses in the USA, Europe and Japan. In the whole supply chain for Pokemon nothing comes out of China. It’s all just fear mongering.

I would love to buy my Jungle holos again for the price I sold them at on eBay back in 2001
 $0.45-0.65 per holo.

Everything around the coronavirus is fear mongering. The media loves to cover it, because it’s cheap to report about it using stock footage and just rehashing the 3 shots they have every news broadcast.

Damn, kid in my class in 5th grade had a first Ed Charizard and would have sold it for $50 back then

Stepping away from the irony-posting for a second: I wouldn’t undermine the potency of the coronavirus. This disease had ravaged China in mere weeks and has got Italy and Iran in full panic mode. This has already done much more damage than any of the other “hyped” epidemics of the recent past. Try your best to be as cleanly as possible for the time being.

No, it hasn’t. Deaths are MOSTLY from people with pre existing conditions and older age, the rate is around like 2%. China has what, 1.3 BILLION people and under 100K cases, that doesn’t seem to have RAVAGED China does it?
