Complete Japanese DPPt Shiny Set in PSA 10s

Together for (what I believe is) the first time, this is the complete DPPt Shiny set in PSA 10s. While they may not be the strong staple Pokemon that we’re used to, I personally put this set on par with gold star cards purely due to their rarity and difficulty to grade, there are not many of these left. For those who don’t know this is an excruciatingly difficult set of cards to grade due to chipping that happens on this glossy holo pattern with the secret rares from the late DP and Platinum era. Many came chipped straight from the pack and others can chip just by putting them in sleeves, needless to say, they are very very fragile. I also love the variety of artwork and Pokemon chosen for this set.

Here is the current pop of each of these cards in 10s as of this post. (1st/Unlim)

Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky

Voltorb - 48/27 - 75 total

Duskull - 32/16 - 48 total

Drifloon - 29/6 - 35 total

Galactics Conquest

Lotad - 29/7 - 36 total

Vulpix - 15/14 - 29 total

Swablu - 16/11 - 27 total

Beat of the Frontier

Yanma - 5/2 - 7 total

Milotic - 6/6 - 12 total

Relicanth - 5/0 - 5 total

Advent of Arceus

Ponyta - 94/4 - 98 total

Bagon - 83/3 - 86 total

Shinx - 72/3 - 75 total

If someone else has this set I would love to hear from them and about their journey on getting this set together. I’m aware of an English set that was together but has since been broken up, so it’s possible this is currently the only set in either language that’s all together but I’m not certain. However, I am confident this is likely the only Japanese set.

I’m not quite done with these cards yet as I have a little side objective that I’m working on with them as well but for now, I hope you appreciate this set being together as much as I do.

Thank you :folded_hands:t2:. I’ve always loved the variety of artwork and pokemon in this set compared to the gold stars.

So shiny. Amazing collection.

Much congratulations on this achievement. Given the difficulty like you explained it is really an amazing feat to have them all graded in 10. The Drifloon is my favourite from this set. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Cheers!

Thank you! Drifloon is my favorite as well. It’s the only one of the bunch that I have (and want) in a 10 in English as well

Wow, this is such an impressive accomplishment! I know firsthand how hard it is to grade these cards, only been lucky enough to get a few of them in 10s myself. Congratulations on a huge goal being done!

Achievement unlocked. Even securing them in 9s is a feat. Congrats!!!

Can I ask which is your favorite? Which you graded yourself?

Incredible feat! Had no clue some of them were such low pop

Drifloon is my favorite for sure, I’ve got it in English and 1st Ed as well in 10s. The only one I was able to grade myself was the Shinx. I did grade at least 9s in the majority of them at one point or the other but I had to buy/trade for the 10s except the Shinx

Tbh looking back at the pops and writing up this post I was baffled that none of them hit pop 100 in 10s even after combining 1st Ed and unlimited. Eventually a couple will I’m sure but some of these will be lucky to ever break 20 in some cases

Beat of the frontier is crazy low pop. Really unexpected for the English counterpart to have a higher/same pop

This is one hell of a collection. Shocked the Milotic’s pop is so low.

Thank you, I’m really happy I can finally share it with everyone. I just wanted it to be documented at least somewhere, it’s possible and it exists

Incredible. Congratulations on completing this goal! Having the Beat of the Frontier trio makes it pretty likely that you are indeed the only one to have a fullset of 10s.

I have half of the cards in Gem Mint (a couple of them are CGCs) and I’ve graded a lot in 8s and 9s myself. Still chasing that self graded 10.

Which was the hardest to find? My personal bane has been the Relicanth. I think it’s naturally difficult to find them in mint or better condition because it’s such an unpopular Pokemon lol. I view Relicanth as the gate keeper of owning the set in 10s. :joy:

Now please get the non-shiny cards in 10 too PLEASE!!!

That is actually my “little side objective” I mentioned with the set, I have 5 of the 12 currently.

I would absolutely agree, it’s the Relicanth. Not only is it the lowest pop but I’d argue it’s the least popular/relevant Pokemon of the bunch. I got lucky with that and just bought it immediately after it was listed without even thinking. I thought it was going to take me years just to find that one.

I remember when I was doing some research on the set and watching people open boxes to see what it was like pulling those someone pulled the Relicanth and right from the pack is had a giant chip out the bottom corner of it.
