Someone will need an uncomfortable amount of money to get them out of my hands at this point. I’ve had a couple large offers but not good enough

Short update: someone offered me an obscene amount of money and the set has been broken up. Unsure if I will disperse the remaining or if I will attempt to rebuild. What I do know is that I will be returning to my humble roots and buying lots of Quagsire things.

Thank you to everyone who supported this journey and was just as appreciative of this set as I was. There should be someone privately that now as all of them together. While this may be the end of this chapter for my collection, my book is far from over.

Man…

Hurts to read but I’m sure it was the right call for you and your goals.

These are some of the most delicate and beautiful set cards in the entire hobby and it was incredible seeing them all together in one place.

I will share I do still have the big kahuna Milotic and will for the foreseeable future and I intend to keep the Drifloon permanently.

I was glad to be the first to do it and hopefully I brought more love to these cards. Live life to be you, not the money. The bigger and better things are my cool and sweet Quagsire and that’s the way I’ll die. I’ll continue to spread the love as I have learned from the many collectors who have done to me.

For me, the fact you completed this in the first place was one of the coolest achievements I’ve seen in the hobby. You’ll always have that no matter what.

I don’t blame you for breaking it up. I’ve been sent some interesting offers for a couple of mine as well. For now, I’m holding on, especially because I’m still only half way to the goal.

And it sounds like you kept the best ones anyway.

I appreciate that, I see being the first to do as not me winning (even though I did ) but me being able to teach going forward.

As a very devoted shiny hunter in the games this felt about as close to a full odds hunt I could do in real life with the cards and it was a blast doing it. Some hunts take longer than others but if you go crazy mode you’ll get what you dream of. I think Gandhi said that or whatever.

For those who have been following this thread, you’d know I was also going after the non-shiny varients of each Pokemon from the sets. The only reason I decided to do that was due to the fact the same artist drew both versions of the Pokemon from the set. Needless to say, they look great together and I just wanted to share the final point I got to prior to breaking the set up for those who are curious.

My goal was to eventually get all non-shinies in their unlimited form and eventually reach for the stars and do the same with the shiny forms. I got to the point here I was tracking down unlimited packs from the sets to pull some of these and grade them myself as the odds of pulling them are not too bad. During my journey I even was able to pull a Gengar Lv.X from a WC blister.

Unfortunately over the last few months the supply has become basically non-existent for these packs (bit that they weren’t before) so this goal really hit a wall very quickly. Either way, this is likely the most complete this set will get unless I decide to rebuild it so I just thought I’d let everyone take one last look.

Thanks again for all the love for these cards and I hope I inspired some of your collection goals that I can (and should) be done.
