An example of everything that is wrong with this hobby. Some person buys these not because they are awesome, but because they are a thing to be hyped and shilled, to be flaunted on the merit of their value alone, to be seen as an investment that will be sold later on. And on a thread on a forum where passionate people would love individual ones for their collection. It’s a shame.

I know of at least 2 groups (one of all E4 people) that were going to split this collection between 15+ people.
You don’t know that this didn’t happen with whoever won it.

That would be awesome if that happened because they would very likely be competing with some people of the kind to which I was referring. But I was really just pointing to the person above who prompted my reaction. The post was a new account shill post hyping it to people who already know about it. That’s all I was saying. The wording was off, I meant this guy buying these cards, grading them, hyping etc. I hope some enthusiastic collectors do team together and buy it.

This is accurate. They spam messaged me on IG, I’m sure others as well. Ultimately it’s just unnecessary. For rare/unique items like this they advertise themselves. The spam messages make me less interested.

I think one of the great ones i recall is the post from a new user that said they WERE absolutely going to be the best collector ever and asking what they needed to do to do that. As in best collection, all cards, highest values, etc. Also that everyone else was just a scrub if they werent trying to do that.
