I had a strange series of purchases come through on my ebay overnight. A buyer created 3 different accounts last night (all 3 created on Sep. 14th) and purchased 3 individual items valued at $1.50 each. The name and shipping address is the same on all 3 accounts. Should I combine shipping on this like I normally do? Or because they did it so weird, should I separate it all out? What’s odd is they used 3 separate accounts, and didn’t get bulk pricing because of it.
Before shipping, I’d message each order asking if its ok to send all 3 cards in one order. Then after printing the ebay standard envelope label, take a picture of that with the 3 cards so you document what was sent. Its very odd to open 3 separate accounts and makes different orders like that.
They didn’t answer, so I contacted Ebay. They told me that the person was using the guest checkout option? I didn’t know that was a thing, so who knows. They said Ebay won’t combine them automatically because they are technically 3 separate guest accounts, but since they have the same shipping address, I can combine them manually.
Edit: Well, Ebay woudn’t let me combine them manually. What a joke.
I would just print one label for one of the three orders and add the same tracking number for the other two orders. You end up having to pay an extra 60 cents in ebay fees (the flat 30 cents per order) but that can’t be helped.
