Pocket Monsters
Card Game Carrying Case It **doesn’tget much more old school than this case, very popular in japan when it was available on November 1997 at the Pokemon Center, japanese collectors still use theirs today.
The illustrations on the insert make it so appealing.**After trying to locate 1 for over a year I eventually came upon a seller with many and had to buy a handful, they just don’t come up sealed very often.
As you can see below, the case came with a small box for damage counters as well as the 2 memo cards which as far as im aware PSA still don’t recognise, theillustrations****are adorable.
Are the two Memo cards two of the same one? I know the one you display here is one of the memo cards (both front and back), but was wondering why it comes with two Memo cards.
Are there btw any other Memo cards besides this one and the Chansey one?
@quuador
The memo card has 2 variations.
The 1 below that comes with the carrying case, 2 of the same copy come with the case. The scan below shows the front and back.
Then there’s the chansey version below which comes with with the fan club magazine vol.2, 2 copies come with the magazine and below shows a front and back scan.
Then theres also a guide book named [大人にもわかるポケモンカード戦略] Pokemon Card Strategy for Adults which has the same illustration as the meme card and had 2 releases, the later is a revised issue. See photo below
Pokemon Center Promos Available at the Grand Opening of Pokemon Center New York on 2001. Such an iconic and nostalgic pair, so glad i didn’t let this pair go.
There are so many items still to collect that were only available back in the day at Pokemon Center New York.
These are some my favourite items in my collection, i’ve been trying to get the pair still sealed in their original Gotta Magazine for several years now but they are just insanely rare. I picked up the pikachu at auction 2 years back and so glad i didn’t back down, I haven’t seen another one since. And I finally found a Mew 2 weeks ago to bring the pair together. Finding them unpeeled hasn’t been too much of a challenge but these will be left intact for as long as I own them.
This is my graded pair, ipeeled****a handful a year or 2 back and these were some of the results. I still have a few to send off but im super happy to have graded a PSA 9 pair myself. With their backs constantly exposed they were prone to damage and from my experience centering was a common issue.
Here are the backs of the magazines and I also noticed a pokemon article or 2 inside of future releases along with an interview, similar to the corocoro comics.
Below are scans of loose copies of both Mew and Pikachu.
It doesn’t get much more nostalgic and well loved than this set of 16 cards. I picked up all of these as a complete set along with some others going back 3 years, something I would never let go.
I adore the art from this set. The Shinings are some of my favourite cards in the hobby, although i have a holo set already graded I plan on grading the shinings from my binder. There are so many in this set that would of made fabulous holos.**
Neo Destiny is easily in my top 3 favorite sets if not favorite! I love all the Shinings even Noctowl! And yes abunch others would have made good holo’s. Dark Vaporeon for example After all the PSa cards I’m slightly surprised but happy to see some ungraded cards nothing wrong with having some nice binder sets. Makes for beautiful presentation and flipping thru as well. I did see you plan to grade them and i don’t blame you. I’m hoping my Shinings get good grades as well. Debating sending them now or just waiting some years because they are for myself so grading isn’t a rush for me. Plus turn around times and up charges sounds daunting
