Clear UV protector for glass cases?

Hi guys! I’m interested in buying a display case for some cards and had a few questions about doing this. My intention is to not break the bank and I found a nice small hangable glass display bookshelf for 80 bucks.

Is there some kind of protector that I can buy for covering glass for UV protection that anyone can recommend? Yes I am aware you can buy cases with special UV protector glass, but the price tag makes me gag. I want to simply explore some cheaper options. SOme kind of film that is meant for being placed on glass or something.

Secondly, it’s easy enough to make sure any displayed card is not in direct sunlight, but how much UV light does an exposed card get if it is in a room with a normal curtain. Lets say sunlight never hits the card but still comes into the room for the sake of things.

My overall intention is to display some PSA cases and rotate my collection so no one card is permanently being displayed. The rest would be in a case otherwise.

detolfs from ikea are only 60 bucks and are pretty big for what you are paying. I use them for my 1/6 scale figures. As for UV protection, im not sure about what would be good for that

I agree those are a solid option, but I’m looking for something a bit smaller for specifically psa cases. I found this…Display caseIt’s small and I like that you can view from the front and it has glass doors. Has a different feel than one of those PSA displays. Almost more like a trophy feel to it. Wanted to know if I could put some UV protection over it like a clear film.

3M make UV films:

But I have no direct experience. Sounds like it would be easier to have it applied to your window, rather than the cabinet.

I wonder if something like this would work… UV Film for windows

Just use the same 3M wraps that people use for car window tints. I think you can get a UV protective tint from 3M that still lets most light through.

@tartrate, link?

best way to get a hold of this kind of material is to just talk to a local car detailer/tinter and buy some of the roll they have.
