Anyone running the scanner on Windows 10? can’t get Epson scan to run

@dipzy ,

Yep, NAPS2 is amazing :wink: You just need to set up a couple profiles for the different scans you will be doing :blush:

P.S I am using the Epson Perfection V370 Photo

are you talking about the Epson V37? I got that one and it runs like a charm

Yup that’s the one i have. The win 10 driver on the Epson website doesn’t work for me. Says Epson scan cannot be started. i’m going to try windows 7 driver

I got Version 3.923 and I also installed the Scan updater from 13-Jul-2018

Sorted, apprarently i was installing the wrong one lol. I installed 3.925 and it works fine.
Example:

Is the V37 still everyones go to scanner for graded cards?
I just started my research for a scanner and noticed the V37 has been out for many years. Has anyone had the same success or more with any of the newer CCD photo scanners?

I’m using the Epson V370. Picked it up on Amazon for 100 bucks, works great.

Could you show me the settings you are using? I have a V370 as well and I like the result you’re getting. Thanks in advance!

How you get the black background? makes the card look 10 x better than what i’m getting with my v37

I was curious about how you got the black color too.
Does a grades card actually fit inside the V37/370 scanner with the top down ? Or are you just placing it on the glass with top open?

@megazone

@dipzy @ryanthelion I turn off the room lights and leave the lid open when I scan my cards. I photoshop the background image in and do some color adjustment.

The V550 takes the cake for now, especially for cards with full body holo (reverse holos, modern full arts, etc). You can get it refurbished on eBay straight from Epson for fairly cheap. Check this thread for some comparison pics. www.elitefourum.com/t/best-scanners-for-psa-cards/22222/1

I’m with @benoit489, go with the V550

This thread led me to buying the Epson V37 and I assume at least a few others would have too.

The power supplies have been recalled for being fire hazards. Wouldn’t want any members or their collections here to burn up. They’ll provide a free replacement.

Anyone used the Epson Perfection v600? Contacted a seller on eBay who’s photos were amazing and inquired as to his scanner, and that’s the one he said he used.

@kpod , I recently got the Epson Perfection v600 Photo and the scans are quite amazing. Originally planned to get the v550 but it was sold out at the time so decided to get the v600. Here’s some example scans using default settings at 20 brightness on the “Office mode” tab.
