Chinese Signing Event Information Thread

Not many full arts that I would want autographed because of how busy they can be.

Ah ok. I misunderstood. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks for sharing those pics that you found from XHS. Yeah, too many colors distract the art. I guess keeping it simple works the best.

Update on the Kimiya Masago tickets:
There are still 27 tickets sitting there unsold. I guess the price might be scaring people off a bit.

But the merch actually looks pretty cool — the texture and the artwork look amazing.

That Lucario sketch is crazy cool

Thanks for the update. On which app or platform are the Masago tickets being sold?

Also, is the RMB 8,888 for signing only, with no sketches included?

It’s Xianyu (闲鱼), basically the Chinese version of eBay. And yes, this ticket is signatures only — they didn’t release any sketch tickets to the public this time. I’ve heard the only people who could buy the 25,888 RMB sketch tickets were their co-host partners.

Thanks for the info. It looks like the tickets will just go through backdoor channels to their partners, who will then possibly resell them to their biggest customers.

Any reasoning for the colored circle over the date?

I saw rumors on IG alleging that the sketches at Masago’s event are not his work, but were done by someone else. There were also claims that he decided years ago to stop sketching Pokémon altogether.

I’m guessing it’s because he acquired these privately and prefers not to reveal.

I saw that post yesterday as well, and someone even reached out to ask me about it. The “evidence” the person used was actually just a screenshot from BSM’s XHS post, but his translator incorrectly translated 正子公也 (Kimiya Masago) into some completely unrelated name. So the rumor started from a mistranslation, not from anything substantial.

I also don’t think there’s much room for a scam here, especially if Pokecolor has PSA or CGC witnessing the entire event. And what Masago may have said five years ago about not sketching Pokémon anymore doesn’t necessarily mean that decision was permanent.

By the end of yesterday, I also saw Peter_tcg and BSM posted photos from the current event on their Instagram showing Kimiya Masago actively participating, which should clear up a lot of the confusion.

Thought I’d share my Hico Kim Garchomp with a Garchomp doodle. I know full arts are a bit busy, but I like it. It’s also neat to see all the variety of sketches Hico did

I understand that Kagemaru Himeno is currently having an art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia over the next couple of days and she would be allowed to sketch on “personal items”. For those who are attending the exhibition, I just want to know if she is gonna sketch her own personal design or pokemon characters.

No Pokemon afaik. It will be her original works and what I have seen she also has her original stickers and artwork which patrons can buy and get signed. So if I understood correctly, it is an art exhibition but also an opportunity to do a meet and greet and get some of her original work signed at the same time. No Pokemon.

Cheers!
