Its just the name of the card owner I guess
That’s crazy! I’m curious to see how the sketch ones turn out
Thanks for sharing the pictures. I heard there were quite a few middlemen queuing for the Hico Kim event and that they were being identified and removed from the line. Is that true?
Yeah, that’s true. A few people who were identified as middlemen were removed from the line during the Sunday morning session. And honestly, it was extremely hard to queue this time. People brought friends, family, and even mules to hold spots, and even if you showed up super early, you basically only got one round this time.
Unlike Pokecolor, which sells all of their tickets in advance, SDD never pre-sells tickets. Instead, you have to keep lining up on-site for a chance at a signature or sketch.
I will post some I got from Chinese socials later today
So China is also dealing with a big scalper/reseller problem for illustrator events.
Thats how its been for a couple years with any overseas events. Thats how many people overseas are able to get autos without traveling to China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia or wherever else events usually take place.
Yeah, the scalper/middleman problem has become a big issue in China too. With so many overseas collectors depending on proxies to secure autos, the demand is huge, and it ends up making the lines extremely competitive for locals.

So it seems due to current ongoing national issues, the meet & greet portion has been cancelled and he is no longer signing or sketching on any pokemon cards. only signing on his own artworks or merchandises.
no there will be no meet & greet but he will still be there and sign and sketch on Pokemon cards.
I think thats pretty much all I could find in 小红书 aka theRedBook.
Might be a hot take, but there are so many colors going on that it distracts from the auto/art. Happy for them though! Looks fun.
yeah I agree! So many colors that blur the card artwork! The only one I like is Meowth being punched by Garchomp. Brilliant idea!
I had the same take. I like the sketches and some are really well done, like the Meowth and the Gible, but it is very hard to clearly see everything. Maybe it looks better in person than on photos? The Lucario sketch on the plan card is gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing the images @pikapikapi
Cheers!
I love the variety of sketches that Hico did! I know some mentioned that the colors kind of distracts from the art but I think its amazing when an artist offers to incorporate multiple colors. Some artists get a little peeved when you ask for another color
Also the fact that it was a full art SAR with so much already going on probably doesn’t help. I wonder if anyone got this Cobalion autographed (Hico’s only other card at the moment). It clearly doesn’t stand up to the popularity of Garchomp, but being a half art does give space for a clear auto
Yeah… sadly I haven’t seen anyone get this card signed haha.
Wayyyyy too much going on with these autographs. With full art cards, less is more imo.
