I wanted to share an amazon find i recently found. I recently got back into collecting and all thing Pokemon. I haven’t made any additions to my collection since the WOTC era, with the exception of 2 small collections i got off craigslist about 4-5 years ago. Recently I have gotten a few modern packs just for the fun of the game, though I know most all modern sets are saturated and generally not worth anything. Anyway, I’ve been hunting for bargains on sets/packs in stores that are older, such as early XY packs. Unfortunately i haven’t found any tins or packs that would have early XY era packs in then in stores.
I still have a few more places in store to look, but i did find on Amazon the Chesnaught EX tin from 2014 for $19.99. I know some people have had bad experiences, and there are some bad review from certain sellers, but i made out great. I got 2 of the tins for $19.99, which is original retail on them. The seller was The Gaming Broker, and i got free prime shipping also.
Tins were original and not tampered with. They had 2 Flash Fire packs, 1 XY base, and 1 Legendary treasures! One of the Flash fire packs or Legendary treasures are going for about $9-11 on eBay. So for $39.98, I got 2 Chesnaught EX Cards, 2 tins, 4 Flash Fire Packs, 2 XY Base Set Packs, and 2 Legendary Treasures Packs. Not bad! I plan on holding the packs indefinitely, as they are going in my new sealed pack collection. I also have a Primal Clash and Phantom Forces pack (i know they aren’t very valuable) just to have one of each of those.
Anyone else doing anything similar? One day I want to post my whole collection, when i have time.
