No thank you
Suit yourself, I might get Veronica and Eric to sign some Rayquaza cards
Tbh when it comes to voice actors, I rather actually just meet them in person and get a picture with them and ask a few questions about there time working on Pokemon.
its like 10 bucks for a personalized one by Veronica and 12 for eric and it will be my first pokemon signatures.
hope they turn out well : )
Where are those prices for the autos youre getting? Pretty cool CGC is doing this. Ive met them multiple times at anime cons, and theyre really nice as is most voice actors they get to attend.
Ah I missed that last option when I skimmed through it. I know most of the auto’s are around $60 at cons, but still a neat event, and Im glad the VA’s are getting compensation for their time. Thank @ddk
Does anyone have experience with making quote requests? The “character quotes” I’ve seen are all like Eric “Brock” Stuart and Eric “James” Stuart. I’d be interested in a 3 word quote from the tv show/movies but would otherwise prefer just a signature
Can we make it a thing to sharpie autograph outside of the slab?
They normally dont mind what you want as long as its not offensive/inappropriate, etc. Ive seen people want “dark magic attack!” on a dark magician card as a quote, or something like “Ill use this frying pan as a drying pan” for Brock, etc. That first link that was posted has a pikachu with both a quote and autograph as an example. If you want both a signature + quote youll be paying extra for sure. Especially for photos/selfie, and a video.
The VA’s seem to be pretty chill if you respect their time.
I wouldnt see why they would want to deny it, but there is a possibility it wouldnt be allowed for the event, or in general. Usually for grading they need to encapsulate an autograph to authenticate it, and if it was on the outside and rubbed off/faded the label would then be wrong. I can see where it would be a liability on any grading companies hands they wouldnt want to deal with, and why I dont see that done. (Idk if it has been done before)
It seems like often when a highly valued card is autographed it actually hurts the value. I’d put up with double layered plastic slabs or any kind of encapsulation to preserve the card and the autograph without physically defacing the card itself. Infact at that point I’d consider buying some.
Hmmm..thinking about it this way if they used a slab to authenticate another slab then the second slab would have to have bigger dimensions than the first otherwise the label would cover the card/auto, XD.
If anyone is wanting to authenticate an auto then directly on the card makes the most sense to me.
It would be a neat idea to preserve the card without the auto, but if thats the case there are probably better items to get an autograph onto. Almost all autos do indeed drop the value, so I couldnt imagine spending more on grading fees, and potentially more for the auto (depending on the signer) if someone wants it for their PC.
I would consider emailing CGC, and asking them, and see what they say.
