Weird, I wasn’t able to see anything but I see it now! For a long time when I pulled it up I just got a blank page + the information, but no pictures. Thanks !!
Quinn (or maybe Charlie) said in the interview on YouTube that they should have database images to match the serials but it’s very very possible that the database is not functional yet. Maybe @churlocker can help us out with an answer
I’m waiting for my Plasma Storm Zard to come in, and I’ll send my first modest submission in. I’ll have a Shiny Charizard GX in that submission . For me personally, I don’t plan on flipping the cards I’m submitting.
Quinn posts to the MTG community a lot and people were asking about the image database and serial lookup not showing images, he said it wasn’t functional at the moment and was being worked on, guess it’s working now.
I like everything about this except that the grade isn’t always centered. If I graded cards for my collection I would certainly go this route. I prefer no serial/barcode on the front and it looks like there are less abbreviations on the label than PSA. Some of their labels I don’t even know what card it is with every word being abbreviated. I also like that they are willing to grade established cards that PSA won’t touch. Great for collectors of “weird” cards.
Good idea. It might cost them money but I garentee it would promote more business the list of positives greatly outweighs any negatives listed in this thread. Not to mention what other grading company offers a similar turn around time, no upcharge, cheap membership, no history yet at least of damaging cards. Or chipping in cases. PSA has the popularity but who knows about the future. At this rate I feel like I should ask CGC Grading for a promoting job
But I’ve been messaging, Charlie, about assigning 1999-2000 an actual name, instead of it being relegated to a number - or series or numbers, I should say. Because there’s still going to be many who won’t know the difference even with the ‘2000’ change. Also, I spoke to Gary, whom stated that PSA coined the term ‘Shadowless’ based on Gary’s ‘No Shadow’ addition.
Hopefully I’ve not pissed Charlie off - as I’ve yet to receive another message, but there are many features to Base 2000 than just the copyright difference.
I’ve been looking for a cheaper alternative to psa and
Beckett for my lower end cards so this is great. I already signed up and I’ll probably submit somewhere between 50-200 cards as a trial run.
Can’t Beckett or psa slab the card and authenticate it? I’m sure they would not grade it but they would at least slab it with an authentic altered on it I’m guessing.
If not you can use GMA if you just care about the card being in a slab and with a grade on it, even if the grade won’t really mean much
I would contact them first but usually they would encapsulate the card and put a label on it that says authentic altered if they can confirm it’s authentic. Sometimes they’ll just ship it back without encapsulating it so I would probably contact them first to be sure.
Awesome clarity. I like that the surrounding plastic is not frosted… it makes the card feel less “out of reach”, if that makes sense.
The case feels good in your hand. Unlike PSA’s latest, or BGS’s, the edges aren’t sharp, which makes it feel so much comfortable and ergonomic. (Do ergonomics matter in a slabbed card? I think so!)
It stacks with PSA cases. Kind of. In a pinch, sure, but it’d slip around more than it’d stay put.
The card can still move around in the case… but not as much as some of the PSA cases that have way too much room for clicky-clack.
I think it’s weird that the plastic border is uneven. Everything is framed and centered left to right… so why not top to bottom? The label could be a little bit smaller to achieve that.
Overall very happy and satisfied. Looking forward to grading more with them in the future. I’m keen on putting together a set of CGC slabs- just not sure what yet!
