Cards That May Never Get a PSA 10

Seems like as of Jan 2013 there were 2.

I believe that PSA stopped designating the no HP error for a time, so wonder if something just got jumbled at some point? Not sure if/how many are out there labeled as the non error version.

is that a real pokemang card

PSA 10 Crobat G from Platinum is something I hope to see and obtain one day, even if that means regrading the existing 9s. Similar to Biird above, I struggle even on the non-reverseholo ones and all that made it through my hands were terrible.

Any English 2016 Champions Festival. The general print quality is appalling, and unlike set cards of that era these don’t have the quantity for a couple to have snuck through unscathed. Tbh I can see someone finagling a 10 one day.

Two English Art Academies.

Interestingly enough, all Japanese Art Academies have at least one PSA 10. Two of which, a PSA 10 is the only graded copy currently.

There used to be a site that tracked cards without 10s among other things. Pokemetrics used to be run by pichufan and then I think might have been taken over by TCGFish and it’s now seemingly abandoned for the last 6 months+.

I was talking about the comic con Riolu cards with @Animedogcollector the other day…

Not Pokémon but:

Any PSA 10 showing up will raise heavy controversies as:

  • If it’s the same card reviewed, PSA’s standards will be questioned
  • If it’s not, Hasbro’s public claim of 1 of 1 will get them into legal trouble

And thanks to Hasbro’s advertisements, there are a lot of eyes on the topic to make sure discussions around the PSA 10 copy won’t be covered up.

Have you heard of Akabane?

I thought this post was about real cards only.

No but in all seriousness, I forgot about Akabane when making the reply

If even the “signature card” only got a 6, I think it’s safe to say that the entire French deck qualifies, staying true to the trend.

Yeah, for sure. This is an extremely limited-run staff promo. In my opinion, no more than 100 could exist (unless Akabane has some hidden under his mattress). As far as I know, the surviving copies are nearly all graded. I’ve seen a few loose ones, but they’re all around NM and would probably sit at a 7 or 8. Maybe one day we’ll see it, but until then, it’s already so hard to get that honestly, any grade is good haha.

The holo pop series Blastoise comes to mind. Highest grade is PSA 9 (pop 3) and all the raw copies I’ve ever seen have been brutal

My most nostalgic card, the one tin I remember opening was the lucario lv.x tin. This card is hard to grade just like other tin promos. This card is the only one together with the armaldo to not have a single psa 10 though. I would have paid a lot for one, but I would use the money differently now (if I could afford it in the current market)

A humble submission from myself in the world of Lucario is this BW promo (BW85).

There are only two 9s on the market of this card, and these were both given out prior to AI centering. My guess is that they are sloppy 9s.

This card is honestly one of the most consistently poor QC jobs I’ve ever seen TPCI pull off. The centering on all of them is, at best, worth an 8, and it was distributed as a standard promo during an unpopular era, sealed in plastic that absolutely wrecks the corners.

Typical example of the centering, I have seen slightly more copied but never close to 55:45.

Doubt we will ever see a 10, but if we do, boy oh boy will it be pricey.

This art is wild! Never noticed how Lucario is splitting a log midair
