cards not arrived yet complaint (within 2 days!)

So I really needed to vent off some steam here (hope that’s okay).

As I’m selling some cards off of cardmarket (as I don’t quite understand shipping globally yet, I decided to sell within Europe) with quite a lot of orders handled (200 → this is much for me, probably not for big sellers though) I get this order from a Portugese guy.

He orderd 1 card from me 3 days ago, which I shipped out the same day. Yesterday he messaged me complaining the card had not yet arrived and that he wanted a refund as the card was not there in 2 days (shipping to Portugal usually takes waaaaayyy longer then 2 days) so I didn’t know why he was complaining.

I explained to him that shipping cards to portugal takes some more time then 2 days, usually a week or more even. Cardmarket does handle a month for items to arrive after which people can open a case if the item has not yet arrived. I explained this as well.

Then he went on to call me a fraud and someone who rips people of off their money (Consider it was a card that sold for only 50 cents!) and that they would call interpol, the police, CIA and FBI. (WTF is even with that threat?:thinking:)

I’ve gotten 23 messages in 4 hours of him complaining and calling me all types of names. I decided to just refund him and block him as it’s not worth the hassle for only 50 cents.

Why, Just why would people react like that? I didn’t even say it would take 2 days for they card to arrive!

Well, that was my vent. Do others have this same problem on Cardmarket?

@bigvenusaur, wow, talk about impatient. I’ve ordered 3 or so cards of cardmarket and it doesn’t take 2 days even if you order from someone in the same country as you.

Lol why is he buying Pokemon cards when it sounds like he can’t afford to feed himself…

@kingboo64, Indeed! I was so surprised by the message. I thought That I mixed up customers but it was indeed the customer that bought the card 3 days ago. I normally wait the full time for the item to arrive and then start a case.

That’s crazy! I sold around 20 times on cardmarket and luckily not to customers like this.
Can you share his cardmarket username? That way I can block him too…

Lol, shipping from Portugal to The Netherlands usually takes 1.5-2.5 weeks, so the other way around would be similar. Not to mention we’re in a pandemic state still, so it can easily take 1-2 months now. Yesterday a package from Spain arrived which was send 2 months ago (I live in The Netherlands as well).

Even if we weren’t in a pandemic, shipping from Portugal to The Netherlands won’t take less than 2 days unless you use a very expensive shipping method. Anyway, considering he send 23 messages within 4 hours because a 50 cent card hasn’t arrived within 2 days while we’re in a pandemic says enough. Just refund, block, and move on I guess… And good luck with your other sales! :blush:

@quuador, Indeed, I was thinkting the same thing. Usually I just refund everything after 2 months and send a message to the buyer stating that if the cards still arrive they can just keep them. This was the first time I’ve encounterd someone like this. blocked them right after the refund…

@bulgogi, me too! It isn’t that rare for packages to arrive after quite some time

If you rage this hard and irrationally over 50 cents…Cant imagine the level of ecstasy this guy must feel when he finds a quarter on the ground.

mental illness is a real thing. so are personality disorders. i’m guessing you just happened into one with your buyer. unfortunately dealing completely rationally and logically (doing everything right) with certain people who are aflicted in certain ways can be as effective as trying to use logic to convince someone who is delusional that something they believe is not true. it just doesn’t work.
