Update: Bad news … I’ve tried WorldRemit. It only works via application (if you want to create an account, you’re redirected to a message where they ask to download the app) …
The application is unavailable in Peru … This means I have to find other alternatives to reduce prices.
I’ve asked them if they have “Booster Bundle” of “Aventuras Compartidas”. They told me that it was out of stock. I also asked them if they sell single cards of “Aventuras Compartidas”. They told me that for now they don’t sell single cards of the expansion in Spanish, maybe in the future they will …
I’ll ask tomorrow if they have “Caja Combina y Combate” of “Aventuras Compartidas” in stock. It’s almost 23:00 and it’s kinda unpolite writing a shop late at night
I’ve noticed that all products from “Journey Together” in Spanish are arriving to Peru in Latin American Spanish. I believe they don’t know that there’s a split regarding Spanish (Split between Spain Spanish and Latin American Spanish). So, products are listed by local card shops as “Spanish” … it’s highly likely that they’re Latin American Spanish.
Id like to take a moment to thank you for diving into this and working to help others with their collections and taking the time to answer so many questions. It is amazing and im sure very appreciated.
Of course, I’ll jump on and say if you ever do ship a middleman order to the US, let me get in on those (LAT) battle decks but no worries if not.
Shipping products from Latin America is kinda expensive. Putting an example I’ve had relatively recently, shipping a package of 350g from Peru to Spain was around $35 USD (tracked).
Edit: I forgot to mention that at least in Peru, shipping price is based on weight of the package.
Latin America is kinda forgotten regarding payment applications (most of these are available only in First World) … By now the only alternative is PayPal (but they have fees) … Seriously I have to find a solution for fairer prices.
No idea where’s the procedence of that eBay seller tbh …
There’s a service called Remitly which claims that I should be able to transfer money to your regular bank account without you having to set up anything, if you are at any of these banks:
I have a bank account in 3 of the banks that are mentioned in that list (Yape is not a bank. It’s the “digital wallet” of BCP … It’s linked with your BCP account. Along with Plin (from Interbank), Yape is the local “digital wallet” almost all peruvian people use in their daily life).
Thanks for the suggestion … I’ll research more about “Remitly” in the following days …
There’re Western Union places in Peru. Not gonna lie, I’ve never tried it … I’ve heard that their fees are also high, but I’m not sure …
I’m currently in contact with a Mexico based tcg shop seeing if they can help in anyway. I’m based in Australia so they have said dhl my most likely only option for shipping
Surely with enough time the cards will start popping up on ebay, cardmarket, cardtrader, etc.
I get the rush of wanting the latest release now, but doing an all languages collection requires an insane amount of patience.
I wouldn’t recommend buying packs as a group and paying a ton in shipping cost for the chance to get your species. Just my advice, don’t need to listen to it
Yes, that’s actually a good advice. Cards might spawn sooner or later in card online shops such as eBay or CardMarket … However, it’s possible that their price might be higher than expected (probably because of importing purposes) … I’m not saying that this is 100% going to happen … it’s just my hypothetical assumptions.
In case of CardMarket I wonder how they’ll classify it … I imagine that in the comments of the product the seller will specify if it’s Latin American Spanish or if it’s Spain Spanish (something similar what happens with American English/European English cards from Yu-Gi-Oh)
I can confirm that building a Master Collection requires time, research and effort. It’s not something that can be built from the night to the morning … Just take your time and have fun because otherwise it’ll stop being fun and becomes stressful.
That’s actually a really good advice imo … just to put an example, to ship an ETB of “Aventuras Compartidas” (it exists physically in Latin American Spanish) it might be minimum $30 USD (tracked). It’ll end being extremely expensive and might not worth it (unless you’re a Sealed product collector … Honestly IDK, everyone has their own goals to achieve)
It’s cheaper to send tracked single cards than a heavy product …
Asked today in the afternoon. They told me that they only have English in stock.
I asked how much was English one (to have a reference of price because prices are kinda similar) … They were selling it for 120 PEN.
I just want to get these done and out the way so I can re focus on older cards. Latin the only hops snorlax I need now besides staff in French German etc
I really appreciate all of your efforts @dromanyte and I also know first hand how difficult these things are. I was also requested by a few people to middleman some cards to my home country (India) but the struggle is also with finding good money transfer service. Like Peru, india also has the same restrictions. No F&F option in PAYPAL for international tansfers and for WISE (which is also my preference), does not work well to recieve funds.
I would like to believe these checks are in place to curb the whole money laundering aspect since India has severe restriction on even moving your own funds across regardless of the platform. In my case, all of the deals I was trying to middle, did not go through since they money just could not be transferred without taking in heavy fees, which the buyers did not want to take in, and rightly so. So I hope you can somehow find a good alternative.
It isn’t being shipped towards me. It’s to @tonysandlin, my US middleman. He’s going to open the packs, since he’s also looking for the Voltorb, Electrode, Foongus, Amoonguss, and Galarian Stunfisk from the set.
@dromanyte And I indeed already had Metapod for @Metapod_museum and Caterpie for @robertocaterpie5 in my list to check among the pulls. (And @WailordEnthusiast also asked me to keep an eye out for the Wailord and Dhelmise with Wailord cameo.)
There are more cards from this set for species collectors among us than I thought. Let’s hope all of them will be pulled among the measly nine packs of the ETB (very unlikely lol ).
