Bumping up your submission grades??

Here is another trick of the trade that yeilds spectacular results!

  1. Organize your submissions by the grade you think they should be. Next, put a piece of cut-out cardboard in front of that stack clearly labeled with the grade number such as “8”, “9”, “10”. Rubber band the cards, cardboard, and $60 in cash together. Rinse and repeat until all of your stacks are organized and rubber banded. Put the lowest grades in the front and the highest grades in the back.
  2. Organize all your OC’s similarly in a stack that says “Off Center”. Be sure to put a $20 bill with that stack. Put this stack at the end below the 10’s stack.
  3. For each stack and wad of money, double check and make sure that the cash can be divisible by 2.
  4. Thank the graders for their dedication and hard work. Sign off with a smiley face.

**edit** I want to be clear about the smiley faces. Use a colored pen or marker and take your time so the sincerity in the “thank you for your dedication and hard work” statement shines through. These messages and smileys should be on colorful sticky notes and don’t cheap out & use the manila ones either. This technique is guaranteed to work sometimes out of sometimes, and always in theory.

So many people on this forum waste their time making the most stupid sarcastic comments Iv ever seen. Seriously sometimes this place is full b*tchy people. Get in a good mood and share good advice or just don’t say anything at all. Simple as that. I realize this is about Pokémon but man the maturity level is low with some of you guys.

Thought you were a lot smarter than that but apparently your surprisingly ignorant.
I wouldn’t normally respond to such nonsense but I’ll make an exception here.
Here’s an example:
If I have two cards to grade, a Japanese gem and an English gem, I’ll never grade them together cause the Jpn one will make the english one look like a 9.

Oh…how is trying to get the grade a card deserves…wrong?

Sorry Chris. This is what happens when idiots like gottaketchum try to attack people, instead of using the brain God gave them or contact somebody privately if they have an issue. That POS attacked my integrity in front of all my friends. Ofcourse I’m going to answer him here since I can’t reach him in person.

using profanity directly to refer to a fellow member is a not a great reflection of integrity either

Defending your integrity by using a profanity isn’t that unusual and is certainly no hit on your integrity. Threaten my integrity in person and you’d be seeing the dentist tomorrow. All that happens because your integrity is attacked.

Hey Chris, there is definitely psychology behind grading - as there would be with most comparisons between two or more items.

Grading is impacted by many forms of bias including halo bias, confirmation bias, anchoring, base rate fallacy, the cheerleader effect, contrast effect, and many many more…

@gottaketchumall I just read your comment that referenced me. Liking a post isn’t a binding contract. People need to relax. I understood Gary’s initial post in a general sense, that doesn’t mean I agree with everything he wrote. It’s just a like.

This thread has run its course. Sometimes we get too critical and forget we are all on the same team. We don’t need to name call and get petty. I respect and like everyone in this thread. Feel free to hash anything out via pm.
