Black Star Promos - languages

The Spanish WoTC Mew 9 is not that rare to find. Both WoTC Mew (8 & 9) are relatively easy to find. In fact, there’re several listed on CardMarket rn.
Same situation with WoTC 4 Pikachu.

Is “Bumblebee Pikachu” the WoTC27 one??? Would you mind replying this message with a photo of the card you have??? … As far as my knowledge goes, WoTC27 has not been released in Spanish, so it gives me curiosity to see what you have.

My apologies it’s the Spanish promo #4

Is this a nickname that I don’t know about or did “-ador” autocorrect to “addy” because you search for adderall a lot?

Yes

So the E4 Halloween Murder Mystery was based on fact and not fiction. :exploding_head:

Thank you for clarifying that!!!

There are quite a bunch of them available on CardMarket: https://www.cardmarket.com/en/Pokemon/Products/Singles/Wizards-Black-Star-Promos/Pikachu-WP4?language=12
(perhaps filter further on min condition). I’d also recommend to contact the sellers for pictures first, to confirm for yourself it’s indeed without the tail stamp and in the expected condition. (PS: A lot of sellers mention ‘no stamp’ in their comments, but I think they’re referring to the WB stamp that can be found on the English copies, and not necessarily the tail stamp…)

(CardMarket is a European only second-hand website though, so if you’re from outside of Europe - I assume the US - you’d need a European middleman.)

Yes, pretty sure it wasn’t released in Spanish.
Same applies to #29 Marill, #30 Togepi, #31 Cleffa, #32 Smeargle, #33 Scizor, #35 Pichu, #36 Igglybuff

Also, I’m pretty confident that the following cards weren’t released in French: #29Marill, #32 Smeargle, #35 Pichu, #39 Misdreavus

If noone objects, I would update the OP accordingly

All the Spanish ones you’ve mentioned have been released in that language.
Here you have Smeargle in Spanish:
(Credits to @diegozgz for the image)

I have the image of some of the other ones. The image in Spanish I’m missing is WoTC30 Togepi. However, I’m almost sure that it exists in Spanish.
I can work on the Spanish images I have and if people are interested, I can post them.

Awesome! Thanks.
What about the French ones?

Also, wasn’t #29 Marill also released in Portuguese?

Unfortunately I don’t know about French versions. I don’t have high quality images of them. However I’d be interested in working in them.

@Quuador shared me a series of images where there were WoTC Marill was available in, at least, 5 languages

image

I recognize that first one is Spanish.
I think that Portuguese one is the first of the second image (the one that has “Revólver d’Água” as “Water Gun” attack)
:warning: If you have a higher quality image of any of those cards (except Spanish), reply to this message with a photo/scan/image. Thanks

I fixed the table in the OP. I made an assumption that SP was Spanish and NL was Dutch. If I was wrong let me know

It’s indeed very hard to see, but based on the HP, retreat cost, and some vague words in the attack I could read, the order of those five seems to be Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German.

I wish they weren’t, since I’m still missing the Spanish Flying/Surfing Pikachu in my collection (as well as the German Flug/Surf Pikachu), but I’m afraid they are indeed released in Spanish:

Almost all the other cards you’ve mentioned have been released for sure as well:

Spanish Marill & Smeargle: see the pictures above by @dromanyte.

Spanish Togepi; Cleffa; Scizor; Pichu; Igglybuff:

French Marill: see picture by @dromanyte as well.

French Smeargle, Pichu:

Only the French Misdreavus I’m not sure about, but it’s likely released as well.

I know, but since @jan123henrik is active, I figured I’d just post it as reply and (s)he can copy-paste it into the main post. :person_shrugging:

Thanks for the series of images!!!
I use TCG card images for personal projects such as TCG charts & others. I had to contact “thepikachucollector” (IG) and I asked him if he could share a photo of his Spanish Flying/Surfing Pikachu. I worked on these photos and shared to him.

:warning: If you’re going to use the images somewhere, please credit him (and me for taking time in editing the images)

I still have to finish writing an article related to these type of promos … there’re not much info, but I’ve found interesting things … I don’t know when I’ll release it … Recently I found that in Latin America, Leagues were held by “Demente” (it seems that they distributed Pokémon TCG during Base-Neo in Latin America) … I’ll keep researching about that …

Thank you. Yes I messaged a few but haven’t received any response. I was using card market to purchase the French Birthday Pikachu. A lot of sellers I’ve noticed will only sell within their country. I’ve messaged a couple people on here about being a middle man. I feel like it’ll take a few weeks for cards to arrive in America. I’m on the East Coast by NYC so that may cut down some time.

Pichu was released in French. It’s got a galaxy Holo foil. It’s just extremely rare to find a copy
