Bidders cancelling?

I’ve been on eBay for quite a while, selling and buying obviously. Noticed a HUGE influx of bidders cancelling lately. Don’t get me wrong, i’ve had a few in the past, but just the past few days i’ve had 6 on 8 items. It can screw with auctions when the bids maybe too high when someone is interested and sees it initially, but then a bid is cancelled it drops and I lose views/potential buyers. A few different people, with a good amount of feedback (well in the 100-600 range) I just mean they aren’t troll (0) bidders. Now I just got a message asking how to cancel a bid on an auction I have ending in 22 hours. Have 100% positive feedback, top seller, blah blah the whole nine yards. Anyone else experiencing this, or have I just been really lucky in the past? because we all know they “didn’t enter the wrong amount” when the auction is like $12.

sounds like a string of bad luck

One of the recent reasons why I stopped doing as many bid auctions. I had buyers cancel bids with less than a day left on the auction, and it would destroy the ending price.

This trend is something I have experienced within the last 6 months. Probably had the same amount of cancelled bids in the last 6 months-a year than in the past 6 years.

I have never canceled a bid.

Yeah I get a fair few of these… Usually low feedbacks… Or just people with cognitive dissonance…

I find more and more people do not read the item description they only look at the title and the pictures. This is evident with the eBay mobile site as you have to click an extra link to go to it rather than desktop where you naturally scroll down to the description.

Is there something in your description that could potentially cause bidders to retract?

Haha I wish! Nope, cards were PSA graded so I am not sure what could they would read later on that isn’t in the title. Looking like I might move away from auctions for a while as well.
