BGS mislabeled & Unable to Authenticate

Sent BGS a Fan Club Magikarp and I’m happy with my grade, but they mislabeled it as the shining karp from the Japanese neo set “awakening legends”.
At the SAME time I sent a Jumbo Corocoro Charizard to grade and it came back ungraded as “Unable to Authenticate”.

Are we serious? That card must be graded by them since one is on EBay in their case. I also know for certain it’s real.

I know companies make mistakes and psa has mislabeled before for me too, but come on…

One upside is that I grade with trading card world and if I send a mislabeled card back it’s handled by them quickly.

I’m confused about the zard though. Do they no longer grade it at bgs or was the grader an idiot?

I think Beckett is starting to be way more cautious but honesty i doubt they have any pokemon experts on staff for anything so likely the grader being ill-informed.

I recently had 3 pokemon Autographs that i know are real and are actually very nice prime examples for the signer come back as inconclusive.

So lose shipping both ways and there insurance fee due to incompetence. Meanwhile they let some obnoxiously bad fakes get authenticated.

Yea it sounds like my best bet on the jumbo zard is to simply send it again and hope for someone not dumb.

I’ve used them before for select cards, but most of my collection is psa.

Maybe your middleman made the mistake? BGS usually just follow what’s on the submission form.

If you submit directly you can get your own sales rep. Mine is bloody awesome, and I can give you (or anyone else) his details if you like.

They make commission on orders their “clients” (aka us) send in and therefore are way more responsive than a standard customer service rep.

I recently had an issue from BAS where on 3 of the cards, the label had fallen out of place after being shipped back to me.

Within 2 hours I had a 10% discount for my next submission and a free reslab organised.

I would get a free relabel using your middle man as they would need to send it in and then resend in the corocoro zard on your own submission.

Make sure to check the box “oversized card” when submitting.

Did you try to grade the charizard again? Im in the same boat with two copies being returned for not being authentic but they 100% are genuine. Cheers

No. I’m not bothering with BGS again on it. For the record it is listed as “unable to authenticate”
