Update 9/16/2025

Cards have arrived. I’ve gone through them and taken a look.
Total damage arrives to 4x Ditto cards damaged / indented and then 1 Weiss card indented as well.

I’d say pretty good return back to me, and off they go to PSA. Will not be grading with BGS for some time now.

You literally sent a sub with USPS, they got damaged BY USPS, BGS returned your damaged submission and then you say “I won’t be submitting with BGS anytime soon.”

You had your cards back more or less in 3 months, considering volume of submission and the type of issue they were dealing with in your situation - isn’t that bad.

Like dude, surely you should say “I wont be using USPS anytime soon”?

Strange take.

I think the “I won’t be submitting with BGS anytime soon” comes from the lack of responses and action taken. BGS had these cards for well over a month knowing about the damage. It has to be a bad feeling having your cards held at company without an ability to respond in a reasonable amount of time.

Yes, their submission volume should mean they have lightning fast responses.

Literally PSA wouldn’t have been much faster. They would also have to investigate etc. I’ve had packages lost at PSA! It took a long time.

Were you here in the pandemic? Psa took weeks to reply to customer service enquires…

Stop trying to be decisive all the time with which bit of plastic your cardboard is in. It’s boring.

That is just flat out inaccurate. I sent a PSA sub on a Friday, they emailed Monday they received it. 2 weeks later it is in Research & ID and they tell me they damaged one card. Within a day, the resolution is already solved. Just night and day difference of how those 2 companies are properly staffed and ran.

My cardboard is 100% in binder plastic pages, lol

If THEY DAMAGED THE CARD

It’s not the same situation.

BGS couldn’t grade one of mine. They emailed me within 24 hours and asked what I wanted to do.

Stop trying to find bs that doesn’t exist.

No grading companies are perfect.

We do agree on that

You literally just said you made a psa sub.

It’s just middle manning a few thousand cards a year for other people. None are mine but it’s my PSA account it goes through. Also middle man BGS and CGC, so can get a good feel for how the places are being ran.

I’ve added a correction to the title of the post.
I agree that USPS damaged the cards. I think it’s fair to update the title to reflect that.

I will not be grading with BGS because of their lack of response. I should not have to wait month(s) for a response from a company that I am trusting to grade my cards. They did not even send me images of my packaging so I could claim insurance.

I’ve encountered issues like this with PSA, and even though it can be frustrating to work with them, they actually respond to emails and answer phone calls.

I sent dozens of emails, dozens of voicemails, and called dozens more times. Until I advocated for myself to at least get a response, nothing happened. All I was told is that they have no management available to fix my problem. I expect and deserve more from a grading company that I am paying to assess my cards.

That does make sense, however I doubt PSA would have been much faster. Your situation was very specific.

They should have sent you photos of the package but you did get photos of the cards inside.

For future reference, UPS/FEDEX do not deliver damaged packages. BGS and PSA also refuse to accept them from these couriers if the packages are damaged.

I would use them in the future.

The way BGS deals with cases is once a case is opened, they don’t really update you until it’s done. But it does get done.

You should absolutely tell them this, though. They need the feedback.

Why are you going to such great lengths to do damage control for BGS and speak as if you were their point of contact? Is there something you are not disclosing to the rest of the forum?

A perfectly reasonable response and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

Why is this the first thing you ask instead of saying:

“Actually yeah op, you should change your misleading title."?

Zero affiliation with BGS.

I like defending things I like when it’s unjustified. There is a lot of unjustified BGS hate on efour.

I also call out BGS when they do dumb shit.

No one is disputing this.

Only one person is disputing it

This was not addressing anyone in particular. Just gassing up my close personal friend @boo. No need to take offense
