BGS (Beckett) has damaged / burned my cards and will not return them back to me (Correction: USPS Damaged)

I can?

Their CS isnt great, but they have more than 6 employees.

Tired of these evees getting all up in ma shit.

gator-other-guys

I figured but still lost as to how the sorting machine ripped through my rubber bands and plastic protectors in order to friction burn the guards. And how did it all come in one piece LOL.

They usually refuse damaged packages if sent via UPS/Fedex - I wonder why USPS is different.

Bro can yall adults stop fighting? Now I know how the others felt when I sprouted bullshit lol

i figure these machines have a bunch of metal rubbing together so they can absolutely crush something if it gets stuck

anyway the damage to your card savers and paper and the black crap on it looks very similar to mine so its probably what happened

Did your cards get damaged beyond the friction?
I’m hoping the damage is limited and the indents I saw in one of the picture is specific to that card only.

Why grown men will pay other grown men to tell them what condition their piece of cardboard is in is beyond me.

It’s really a tossup, sometimes the cards can come out fine, but in this case, who knows?

I would say that more might be damaged, but depending on the angle and friction that the package entered in and the angle it exited (if at all) would give us a better answer.

Are they doing that poorly? Beckett has historically been a prestigious grader in the sports market, so that’s surprising to hear. Has SGC overtaken despite the hideous labels?

So I can say that my cardboard is better than yours >:)

mine was a cd jewel case and it got completely obliterated on one side. i tried to find pics of the package but seems like ebay deletes them after a while. you might get lucky in yours and only the card savers got damaged… not sure if bgs actually pulled out the cards to examine them

I was joking with the number of 6 employees, but it is without a doubt significantly lower when compared to times when BGS was a player. Not to have the same arguments over and over again, but it’s clear BGS is hurting financially and their leadership has left the company, just Iike the CS rep said.

TAG did 50k cards last month, so BGS will soon be booted off the top 4 list.

It’s gotta be the massive, sharp slabs, you could prepare a 4 course dinner with those corners.

I think you can find many people on e4 who like each companies slab, label, scale, etc. I like CGC’s slab the most, but there are people who love BGS’s slab.

It all comes down to 3 things:
Pricing
Turn around time
Value added

PSA and CGC do atleast 2 of those 3 well (at times). BGS is slipping on those 3 things, and when customer service never helps you, they lose customers for life

Tbf they should take SGC off this list

Because PSA owns them? Or because their volumes are also low? When it comes to marketshare stuff, it’s interesting what companies fill out the bottom 1-2%. It’s not competition today, but could be emerging companies, like TAG, for example. Wow, not a TAG shiller by the way.

For the PSA/SGC thing, I think people care about how many slabs are produced by the actual slab brand, not necessarily the parent company

Oh yay, this post has descended into another “my plastic is better than your plastic” debate.

Another broad, unfounded statement. You have zero idea what their margins are or what their profitability is. I own a 7 figure company and we are more profitable than our competitor who does about 3x our revenue.

BAS does $100m yearly on it’s own.

People leaving a company because they disagree how it is run, or because PSA is stealing them (my last BGS rep is now a PSA Sales Director - we connected on Linkedin lol) - not because of your idea of the companies profitability.

Holy shit. Holy fucking shit. You’re the TokyoPokemon Twin…

I mean they did go bankrupt…not adding fuel to the fire, just saying..

They did not go Bankrupt. Their mother company was sued. BGS just had $250m investment.

Not sure who that is haha.
