Hahahahh!
I’m really sorry about your loss though. I too just lost $600 so I can relate :\ I’m going to take it as a lesson learned and hopefully I can avoid future similar situations.
Yeah I think humans have to learn lessons … but i would rather lern it without losing so much money…
Anyway… pokemon card collecting sometimes is expensive ![]()
Sometimes? Pokemon card collecting is always expensive!
To complete set the average way:
Theme Deck: $15-20
5 Booster Packs: $20
Missing Singles: $1-5
Missing Ultra Rares: $10+
Or if you buy a booster box: $90-100
Missing Ultra Rares: $10+
Now do that for ~50 sets.
hi guys…
I want to do an update in this thread that I started weeks ago because I think it will help people.
shortly what happened:
I made a private deal with a japanese seller alias “japaneserealapparel” (ebay name). the amount was $1500 that I paid for a card. I have made a paypal payment but unfortunately marked it as “gift”. When he did not contact me anymore after the payment and I didn’t receive anything I opened a case but paypal a few days later closed the case because I marked as “gift” so they are not able to do anything for me.
Luckily for me, I paid with credit card. So when the amount was charged on my credit card I contacted the credit card company and made a complaint. Of course i sent them all e-mails that have been sent between me and the seller so they saw it was a marchandise that i bought and not a gift to him. The credit card company gave me the money back and contacted paypal. the seller opened a case at paypal because of the credit card back posting. Paypal now decided that the seller had not enough evidence to proof that he sent the card out so I finally won the war. I’m very happy about that!
So people please note: If possible always pay with credit card through paypal because you are a lot safer…
well see labeling it as a gift was also bad on your part doing that the case would close faster and you really wouldnt have anything to help with if you really did get scammed or anything.even if it was a different transaction besides ebay doing it as goods is still better since you have a better chance of opening the case and not getting it closed faster.
of course I know that… i labelled it as gift unintended… I’m not so stupid… I was just too fast doing the payment…
If I didnt get the money through the credit card company I would have gone to the police
You’re right, thanks Frosty!
I got an e-mail about 3 weeks ago when he told me he had enployees and they were fooling people and that he was sorry for what happened.
I guess he wanted to make sure his reputation gets better and thenfool people again…
Please BEWARE and do not buy from japaneserealapparel. This is for your own safety!
Thanks for the heads up. I hope we can inform as many members as possible to keep away from the seller. I hadn’t dealt with him before but I heard enough adverse feedback to stay away.
He only has 45 feedback, i wouldn’t send over a few hundred to someone with that low. I’m glad you got your money back though! Good to see the cc company can pull through sometimes.
Ah darn I knew his name was familiar. I’ve been eyeing that fan club Porygon of his for a while now. I’ve been throwing pretty bad offers and he wouldn’t respond. I guess now I can remove it from my watchlist without feeling guilty.
I’m under 100 feedback and sell a lot of items. I wouldn’t use this idea.
I’ve had many very successful purchases with buyers as low as 10 positive feedback. The key is to talk to them first and see what their story is etc. The only problems with sellers I’ve encountered came from scammers with 500+ positive feedback, purchased feedback I presume.
(Not trying to convince people to buy from this scammer)
From Geri’s (almost) misfortune, I pay for every questionable purchase with a credit card. One extra line of defense gives me peace of mind ![]()
Wait till that seller puts up a cheap card then buy it then pay then wait then leave a nasty negative warning other buyers about him. He has great feedback and dsr’s you could totally ruin. Obviously he was worried about this which was why he pulled all his listings before and waited till this blew over to relist.
Im not trying to hate on people with low feedback, i only have 74 myself. But 1500 is a lot of money (to me atleast) and its wise to as stated do your research or stay away. Its easy for someone to sell 45 cheap items and then pull “the big dirty”.
That being said a friend of mine a few years ago got an alpha black lotus for $900 off a guy with under 100 feedback and everything turned out fine.
There is a reason dealers with 20,000+ feedback sell a lot and for higher prices. People will pay extra for the added feeling of security.
Good post Chansey. What you said about people with a lot of feedback I think is true for most shoppers. They pay for the piece of mind/consistency.
The new, “Top Rated Plus” seller accurately identifies sellers who sell well. To have that title you need 4.5 or higher feedback stars, high overall feedback percentage and you have to ship your items with tracking and only 1 handling day. It is a really good way to give sellers incentive as their items will get more exposure while increasing the standards for shoppers.
I promise I don’t work for ebay ![]()
I saw that you had that Scott, kudos! I could never get a status like that, being in Canada. I can’t afford to ship everything with tracking since all my sales are outside of the country. I am top-rated though ![]()
