Best way to store ungraded cards

I just bought ones of these, and I’m pretty amazed with it. 480 sleeves and the material feels great.

Personally for ungraded cards, I store them in Ultrapro pro binders. Also Ultimate Guard has some great binders.

I do KMC Perfect Fit inside KMC Super Black inside UltraPro pro binder. Also on this topic – anyone have recommendations for safety deposit boxes that fit binders?

All of the above are good recommendations. If your cards aren’t particularly rare and mint the sleeve type shouldn’t matter as long as you use a top loader and team bag to go over the top loader. The BEST, most clear and SAFE method is by far the: Penny Sleeve, Top Loader, Team Bag; and then stored in a safe location. The penny sleeve is gentle on the cards, slides out of the top loader when you need it to much easier and is also clear so you can examine your card crystal clear while in the top loader. This is why this is also recommended for PSA submissions when it truly counts to keep the cards pristine - just sub out the Card Saver I for a nice new top loader.

As far as binding cards goes - I use Ultra Pro 9 pocket and Dex Protection 12 pocket binders with penny sleeves on all of my cards. By far the best method. Penny sleeves are the wonder of the universe for this kind of stuff. Very gentle and sufficient protection.

I think the BEST, Most Clear & SAFEST method has been mentioned above. Magnetic and or screw-down cases offer a tough and thick layer of encapsulation that surpasses toploaders by far. You can also put them inside perfect fit team bags designed specifically for them(All mentioned above). It completely encapsulates a card and does not leave any open ends.

As for binding methods I highly recommend a toploaders binder. Yup you heard it right, a binder that holds cards in toploaders. I believe it even holds cards in toploaders sealed off in team bags. Each sheet holds 6 cards and is around $60 with your choice of 30 pages or 40 pages for $6 more. I personally love my toploader binder.

Hope this helps you visualize things a little better.

@missingno , what one touch size is the one for Pokémon cards? I bought the 55 pt because I was afraid that the smaller one could damage the cards… However, I feel that in the 55pt the cards move quite a bit. Do you use the smallest size? Do you feel that your cards are safe there?

The cheap solution that I use as a toploader binder is this:

It works fine, although you have to take into account that it is not made for that… Sometimes the sleeves are nor very regularly cut and some of the pockets are smaller than the others so some have broken when I’ve put the toploader inside. However, I’m happy with that solution because most of the time toploaders fit and I even think that these binders are more aesthetically pleasant (although that’s completely personal opinion haha).

@alicia I use 35pt. I am able to put sleeved cards in there without a problem. 55pt is a bit too large, I use 55pt if I want to encapsulate a sealed card where I need extra space for the top and bottom flaps to fold back. Or even when I want to keep two cards that belong together for example, a Mythical Mew Box Code card with the Promo. 35pt is perfect for single cards though.

That binder alternative is fine I suppose, but the toploader binder has very rigid and firm pages which is a huge plus. Also the extra ring in the middle makes flipping pages a lot more stable and precise, whereas the binder in that video the pages seem to have a lot of play when turning. The spine of an official toploader binder page is extremely firm and offers a more secure structure for your cards and ones comfort.

I just tried the Ultra Pro clear deck with the penny sleeve and I cannot put the penny sleeve over the top of the deck sleeve. They are both the same size. I am bought the wrong clear deck sleeve? I bought the one with the circle at the bottom. Thanks

Did you buy the Deck protectors with a clear front & back? Ive been buying these for years and never had a problem with double sleeving (U.P. premium and penny). The deck protector clear sleeve stock # is 82667

Mine deck is stock#82689 . Dimensions is 66mmX91mm. @2011 Ultra-pro. This is the first time I bought it on eBay.

It has 100 sleeves in stead of 50.

Those are the right ones, just in a two pack. That’s weird… and you’re sure the sleeves you used were ultra pro penny? I have ©2010 #82689 and 2012 & 2015 #82667’s and they fit fine. My only other guess is you may have gotten a bad batch?

Edit: Ok I just double-checked the ©2010 #82689’s and it appears that they are indeed slightly larger width than the 2015 deck protectors. So I gather the answer may be that you need to have either 2010-2011 deck protectors with just Penny sleeves or just find the 2015s to fit whatever you may have.

It makes sense because I noticed some significant improvements in their 2015 production, and I highly recommend trying to find that year or later. I actually did a review of a bunch of different sleeves here if that helps:

Tldr: The 2010 clear deck protectors fit Ultra pro Penny only (not the smaller U. P. Premium sleeves or some others). The 2015’s fit Ultra pro Penny and Premium sleeves.

Thank you. I just checked and indeed the one I just bought is wider than some other one that I have. Now I have to find the 2015 version.

You’re very welcome !

I just bought a lot of the new one with #82667 but its 2010. It is not clear as other one. I was wondering of the eBay seller swap the 2015 version? Why it is so hard to find a right product for Ultra-Pro…

My method too except I quit using toploaders and team bags. I only use card savers now. They are cheaper and take up less room.
On a related note, I’m selling top loaders in lots of 1000 lol.

Have you found a box that stores card saver 1’s perfectly yet?

I would like to do go this route too instead of the toploader binder. Is there a sleeve for the Card Saver? I just don’t want dust getting into the cards.

Good questions.

The tight fitting PSA card sleeves fit the card saver 1s snugly…
Plus, every box that fits PSA cases fits the card saver 1s perfectly:)

Nice mate

Was looking for something a little more sturdy and permanent though =)
