Best way to proof your photos? (ebay related)

this post is inspired by the “Seeing Cards I Own On ebay?” thread;
What is the best way of ‘proofing’ your photos you place on ebay to prevent individuals from easily (I know if a scammer wants to scam, they will scam a way to do it) utilizing your photos of cards in their scam listings?

I was going to begin placing my ebay seller name or a logo in my pictures but wasn’t sure if that’s the best manner to prove legitimacy of ownership and prevent others from using those photos to scam others.

Use a watermark or a piece of paper with your username if you are concerned. You could include the date as well if you want but if your listing stays up for awhile you might want to continue to update it, which I would find too time consuming. If you are still real concerned and want to assure your customers you are the legit owner of the card you could include in your description something like if you want to see additional photos of the card please message me. Keep a consistent background/photo type for your listings is a good sign the cards are yours. Example: cards all scanned and cropped the same way, or possibly you have great lighting in your kitchen and you take them all on your countertop.

Some of those scam listings have both watermarks and dated pieces of paper from the sellers they stole from - think you are up against bots with this stuff, not much you can do but wait on the listings to be removed and hope eBay resolves the bigger issue of compromised accounts
