As far as I was aware a 1st ed pack is always shadowless? I was expecting the pack art to show the three cards just above the 1st edition stamp?
Note: this particular listing is from an Ebay seller with 631 positive feedback at 100%, so I do find that odd this would be a scam, especially as it sold for £440…
It’s all base set, just different prints. Technically shadowless and 1st edition were the same print but some were stamped with the 1st ed logo. Anyhow, 4th print is UK. It’s worth more than Unlimited.
Prints for Base set:
1st edition shadowless
shadowless
unlimited
unlimited U.K. only
That said, looks like you got an unlimited pack with a 1st ed stamp. Shoulda been covered up with a triangle Don’t open.
The pack you show I believe is an error where 1st ed was stamped on unlimited packs. Most of the errors were caught and covered with a black triangle. Few weren’t caught and made it in to circulation, like these. These will contain unlimited cards…
It’s not a 1st edition in the sense that it has 1st edition cards inside. Rather it’s a variant of the black triangle packs which had used the black triangles to cover a 1st edition stamp. This variant is without the black triangle. Inside is contained unlimited print cards only… The reason it went so high is that they’re quite rare and very tough to find variant.
That’s because it was not UK only…you have “4th prints” printed in UK, Australia and USA.
Holos 1999-2000 are only available in UK printed packs, though not guaranteed. Australian packs are not confirmed to have the holos with the 1999-2000 copyright and American packs do not contain holos with the characteristic copyright.
The variation should be referred as Base 2000 or something along those lines, UK and 4th print designations are inherently wrong, though understandable.
