Does anyone know with certainty if the 1996 Bandai carddass cards are stickers? I can’t seem to find any information on if the cards are stickers as well. I believe the non holos are not stickers, but the prisms are? I have some graded Bandai, but I am unable to confirm if they are stickers. They seem like cardstock. My confusion came from this video stating they are stickers as well? Within the first 20 seconds, he states they are stickers as well.
I think there is always a confusion between vending and stickers. What I mean is every ‘kira’ card is somehow confused or assumed to be a sticker. I believe that these are just cards with a slightly different cardstock (thinner) and not stickers. I have never found any evidence of anyone being able to use them or peel them as stickers. I have the cards myself in binders and they dont feel peelable to me.
On the chance that I am aboslutely wrong, I know @SleeveNoCardBehind is on E4 and would like to check in with them on how they consider these cards to be stickers.
Cheers!
I have the same understanding as @mrbubbles that these are just slightly thinner cards, there are some later bandai releases tho where holos are sticker cards so that might lead into some misunderstandings
Hello. The prism cards are stickers. I know this because I peeled one. The non-prism cards are not stickers.
Thank you so much for sharing the info. Really appreciate it. This is new revelation for me. I always assumed only the Carddass Anime version had the peel off versions.
Cheers!
You learn something new every day in this hobby.
Wow. Thank you for your sacrifice, I was literally gonna buy one and do the same thing. This is never before recorded stuff lol.
So…are the prisms considered stickers? Or cards? Because at the very least, the backside is a cardstock with information about the pokemon. Which is technically a card.
Is it a Pokémon card though?
I have this full set and never realized they were stickers.
Also wtf? Are the zards really that expensive?
For a while folks were touting these as the first ever pokemon cards. Looks like the lowest psa 10 zard on eBay is listed at $14k. I wonder if they know these are stickers
Ok. Cardsaved the holos, cardsaving the rest right now. I remember I bought them pre-covid for like $150 and they weren’t worth spending card savers on/grading at the time. That’s wild. Do you know if the “Pocket Monsters” set made by Bandai in 1997 are now gradeable as well?
The non holos are still the first produced cards. The prisms are still considered cards, although they have sticker properties. PSA recognizes them as cards. They’re sticker cards, but different than typical sticker cards like the snack stickers. They’re a unique hybrid collectible.
You live and learn! I don’t have the set atm in my hands but i wouldn’t anyway have had the courage to try peeling it. I guess it’s again another thing stretching the card definition
If you’re referring to the zard on the right that is known as a Sealdass card. It’s a sticker card but psa does grade them. Definitely worth sending in the zard!
