I think I came across my first ebay bot. The item was at $500 and I bid $1500, check to see the highest bid and it jumped to $1525. Ok no big deal, I put a bid in for $1600 and it said the highest was $1625 now. Not a second of delay, the highest bid went up instantly. There were only 2 bidders(myself and a 0 feeback account) and the seller has 4 feedback. Dont know what I ran into, have you experienced this before?
Ebay had that built in. If you bid higher than the current bid, ebay will bid for you automatically up to your max
Is $25 the increment it’s set at?(obviously unless the difference is less than $25)
The amount is based off of the current bid of the item. Here’s an eBay article about it: www.ebay.com/help/buying/bidding/automatic-bidding?id=4014
The $25 jumps you saw are because the item was over $1000.
It’s the correct increment for that price range. You simply got outbid that’s how eBay bidding works.
You can consider Gixen to help you bid in the future.
Fiery and jonbo,
Thank you both for the clarification. I will consider Gixen
As the others said, that’s just how bidding works when someone’s bid more than you. Although eBay bidding bots are a thing
