Apparently ALT Vault is the only initial shipping option after purchasing a card

As the title says, ALT automatically sends your newly purchased card directly to your vault without the option of shipping to your own address first. Once your card is in the vault you then submit a request to ship your card to your address, where you’re charged a 1% fee up to $100.

Not sure how long they have been doing this and if I’m just late to the party, but to not have the option to ship to yourself initially is scummy.

Thoughts?

I forgot ALT was in this game

If it wasn’t for the (fake) prototype cards going through Alt, I don’t think anyone would know of them

Alt actually has some good cards come through their auctions every week. I bought a few cards on there in April, and I was also annoyed I had to “send” them to the vault. But I just immediately shipped the cards to me from the vault, and from the auction hammer to the cards being in my hands was exactly 1 week. There is a 1% fee for withdrawing from the vault, which is pretty annoying.

Putting aside their auctions, I do really love their app as an auction finder/tracker. You can find and add things to your watchlist from eBay, Fanatics, Heritage, etc. all in one place. I also use the app to find past sold prices for cards. It makes it very convenient to click on a card, a grading company, and a grade, and then look at the recent prices.

The Alt app is functional for you? It’s a laggy mess for me

Yeah I never have any problems with it. I do have a new iPhone though, so maybe that is why it doesn’t lag.

the desktop website works a lot better than the app in my experience, tho it still has its issues

Yep, the desktop site is fine with me. Meanwhile, the mobile app runs like a Psyduck anytime you ask it to do anything. I definitely don’t have a top of the line phone but I’ve never encountered performance this sluggish except with the Alt app.

Its just an extra step, not a big deal. I find their extended bidding practice to be far more atrocious then clicking a few extra buttons to ship to me. If anything the ship to vault saves you on taxes.

u need to select “ship to me” right after. just budget like 5% less than what u would normally bid with all the extra fees they charge

u dont like the fact u can extend the time on a $10 card to get more time on ur $10k card

It’s extra $$ that I shouldn’t have to spend that goes in the pocket of ALT for doing nothing.
